The final film? well who knows but this isn't as bad as I've read and its certainly no worse than the fourth film ('Necropolis'). Basically the same plot lay out with the deadly toxic gas again being mistreated and lost, although this time its turned into a drug which was an interesting twist.Its still pretty dumb though really. The students find these barrels of toxic gunk and decide to test them?! They discover that the chemical have the same type of effect as ecstasy when taken orally...sort of. It actually makes you foam at the mouth and spasm! none the less they name the drug Z for the zombie-like effect it has on a person. Then guess what? they start extracting the chemical, putting it in pill form and selling around school...well that's not totally illegal and dangerous now is it.Apparently you're only suppose to take one pill at a time but guess what...I won't even finish that. So before you can say holy squelching zombie balls...there are zombies everywhere.The story does follow on from the last film and has the same surviving cast members which is good but for some reason they don't seem to know what the gas is or what it can do as if the last film never happened. Yet this film does follow on from the last for sure as the characters all have the same names. I suppose they may not have seen the canisters in the last film but its still a bit odd, never the less the film plays out much the same as before with people going down one by one as we head towards the rave finale. The makeup is spot on just like the previous films and looks nice n slimy, nothing too new looking but it all works and does the job plus the Tarman zombie (or another version) is back and looking sweet.I think this film also gets back to the humour aspect of the original two films which is good and in my opinion makes it worthwhile and a fitting addition to the series. Even thought the entire premise is absurdly ridiculous...but I guess that also harks back to the classic 80's originals.5/10

The movie starts bad, then it get worse until the end. First, the canisters are a cheap version of the originals seen in the ROTLD 2. Second, the acting is just awful, specially from the gangsters. Third, (AND HERE I'M GOING TO ROLL SOME SPOILERS SO YOU'RE ADVISED): what the hell was that weird shaking in Jeremy? Are you serious? Four: zombies doesn't scare, they are silly looking, misinterpreted.Also, why the gangsters aren't using some hazard protection if they know what are they dealing with? It's not some freon, it's TRIOXIN! Wear some gloves at least for the love of god!And last: the guitar scene (about 32 minutes) is even worst than the infamous Troll scene (yeah, the Internet meme). END OF SPOILERS.I warn you: don't see this crap! If you're a cult movie lover, consider this garbage as a non-canonical attempt.

since when can zombies talk? The movies pretty lame overall. The acting is horrible! The zombies in general act like complete douche bags. It's a shame the effects and attempts to be realistic were, surprisingly, all they could come up with in 2005 rather than 30 years ago like i would have guessed. The plot is weak, with its stereotyped college burnouts and "PARTY" themed chain of events. It is like some moron decided to throw every classic zombie film in a blender, add some of his non-creative ideas(seeing as 99% of the movies events were previously portrayed in classic films)to come up with this great example of time waste. The story is so typical zombie flick. The director should get SHANKED!

This final (?) film in the Return Of The Living Dead horror film franchise puts a final nail in the lid of the coffin for this series. The film has little to do with previous entries, except for the Trioxcin gas found in the barrels. Supposedly this is a sequel to part 4. Some of the main characters return, true. They have graduated from high school and are now in college. The problem lies in the fact that they have all seemingly forgotten what befell them in the previous film. So when the barrel with the gas and the zombies do show up, it is as if it is all brand new. Heck, even main character Julian seems to have forgotten that he hates his uncle (Peter Coyote in a very small cameo) after the events of the last film. The zombies are not very exciting visually (mostly some grey skin and latex cheekbones) and the rules of how they act seem to change as the story decrees it necessary. For instance, at times they can run and later on they can only shuffle about. Its too bad that the series had to go out on such a low note. It really did deserve better than this.
