stormhawk2018 That's how I felt after seeing Legally Blonde 2. Throughout this movie I felt like the director thought the viewing audience was stupid and had to dumb stuff down for us. The film follows the recently engaged Elle Woods whom just got fired from her great job to go against an organization that uses pets as test subjects. Normally this may have gone unnoticed but Bruiser's mom is one of the dogs there and wants this to be brought to the attention of the Capitol. This film is just dumb. D-U-M-B dumb. To prove how dumb this film is ill say one sentence that pertains to the focus of the movie. Elle has a person look up Bruiser's ancestors and the whole reason this got noticed was because his mom was a test subject.... The worst part is the guy went ahead and did a background check. If she found Bruiser on the street, how would you be able to find his mom if his last name wasn't Woods when he wasn't hers yet??? This movie therefore shouldn't exist because of how stupid it proves itself to be based on that background check. The supporting cast is not that great in fact the only people who weren't totally obnoxious or not great in the movie at all were Reese Witherspoon and Bob Newhart. I really liked Witherspoon in the original Legally Blonde but she does the exact same performance as the first like play to play the exact same and it really is poor writing. Naive blonde goes to get noticed somewhere so she can get something she wants and of course gets it. There's also conflicting information at times such as the beginning scrapbook scene when they are describing each memory and they get to Elle and Emmett's first encounter and it shows them kissing? And they also got shots that would've been impossible to get given that these people weren't even there to take the picture. The gay dog joke throughout the film I thought was really stupid and kinda offensive in a way given that the guy was freaking out that his dog was gay. Also there's no tension or suspense as to what will happen or between two characters because there's pretty much no chemistry to be found. There's also a ton of clichéd characters such as the uptight lawyer, the nerdy awkward assistant, the quite intern, and of course the naive blonde which was actually not annoying in the original. The intern lady always had this constipated look on her face in every scene that was super hard to look at because I felt dumber every time I looked at her. The only good part I can find in this movie is that there's some things that remind me of the original but not a lot unfortunately. Legally Blonde 2: Red, White, and Blonde was a totally unnecessary sequel that ruined the good things from the first and made a really poorly written and sometimes poorly acted movie.
Python Hyena Legally Blonde 2: Red, White and Blonde (2003): Dir: Charles Herman-Wurmfeld / Cast: Reese Witherspoon, Sally Field, Regina King, Luke Wilson, Jennifer Coolidge: The only working element of this comedy is its title. It regards making a difference within a majority. It might had made a difference had the film not been released period. Elle Wood is fired from her job when she tries to locate her dog's mother. It leads to a battle against testing animals to make beauty products. This film is so wretched that it most likely wasn't tested on anything let alone common sense. She puts her marriage on hold and accepts a job in Washington where she battles the animal testing issue as well as discourage co-workers. Formula mess that leads to an embarrassing climax where two gay dogs are wed. Director Charles Herman-Wurmfeld shoots this travesty as if he were asleep. Reese Witherspoon was appealing in the first film but here she is subdued in idiocy losing any charm she obtained before. Sally Field is far too talented to be playing this tyrant beauty marketer. Regina King is totally cardboard, and Luke Wilson as Witherspoon's fiancé is even more useless than he was in the previous film. Jennifer Coolidge seems to be typecast into these roles but she will always be remembered for her American Pie stint. Pointless sequel that should be buried in dog crap and scooped into a trash bag. Score: 1 / 10
Sirus_the_Virus I loved the original Legally Blonde. Two or three years passed by and we ended up with Leagally Blonde: Red white and blonde. The great Reese Witherspoon is back as Elle Woods. But what the hell happened to the Legally Blonde I loved? Legally Blonde 2 has gone through what Bridget Jones 2 has gone through. though that film was better. This film, was sort of silly. I am not saying that that film wasn't but this one is a lot dumber. In the sequel to the hit Legally blonde, Reese Witherspoon returns as Harvard law graduate Elle Woods. This time, when she figures out that her dog Brooser has a mother. When she goes to where his mother is, she finds out something terrible. So she stands up for animal rights. She eventually gets fired from where she is working and travels down to Washington D.C., where the same thing happens to her. The people working down there think she is a dumb blonde, like the original. I loved the original. But Legally blonde 2 is just weird. Elle is still her girly self, but this time she isn't as funny. The film is also kind of corny. Earlier I said weird. I only said that because she finds out that her dog is gay. What the hell? how the hell can a dog be gay? How could they judge her so quickly again? Why did they decide to make this film? Legally Blonde 2 isn't a disaster, but it is one of those silly sequels that could've been a lot better. Legally blonde 2: Red, white, and blonde:**/****
insomniac_rod Gee, was it necessary a sequel to "Legally Blonde?. The movie's ratings and negative comments answer the question. The plot is beyond ridiculous and it doesn't even tries to be clever just like the original did. I mean, the plot dealt with a topic that was receiving plenty of media attention for it's social causes and more...but it's never fully explained on how to battle it on the legal aspects.I don't think there are real motives to watch this movie. It's not funny, witty or even entertaining. These kind of sequels are done with the butt and only try to capitalize the success of the original. Even the funny and pretty Reese Whiterspoon delivers an uncomfortable performance.Avoid this one.
