Rachel, a rookie cop, is about to begin her first night shift in a neglected police station in a Scottish, backwater town. The kind of place where the tide has gone out and stranded a motley bunch of the aimless, the forgotten, the bitter-and-twisted who all think that, really, they deserve to be somewhere else. They all think they're there by accident and that, with a little luck, life is going to get better. Wrong, on both counts. Six is about to arrive - and All Hell Will Break Loose!

firefly-31998 An absolute gem of a movie. The cast were brilliant. The shocks were enough to make me go YUK. Six was so scary. He just needed to look at someone and you knew they were next. The ending was not what I expected and I loved it. If you love horror with a twist then you have to watch this movie.
sigynnez Well, I have seen 'The traveler' and didn't like it at all. I have seen 'Assault on Precint 13' and it was fine. I have seen FEAR ITSELF, and was one of my favorite miniseries, and 'Eater' was a great episode (being 'New Year's Day my favorite). "Last shift" was a pleasant surprise, with and shocking end, and I highly recommend it. Well dammit! there is too a couple of episodes of Twilight Zone, or more movies or series that I haven't seen, this idea is not original.Yes, I thought in all of them when I read the plot summary, I couldn't avoid it, the film fits in the "A claustrophobic tale in a prison with a evil force and everything just go wrong"(except for Precint 13, there are no evil forces, instead there a corrupt cops) But I love Liam Cunningham and couldn't help myself to watch it. And I loved it. From the opening, which is a piece of art, and was a pleasure to my eyes, to the very end the the word of one syllable that ended/started all. All acting was great and believable. Script was very good and well think of it. I would give it 10/10 but Heggie backstory was a little poor explained, I need a deep explanation on what happened there (about how she was saved).I loved Liam and his "Six"... We get from the beginning who "Six" is, no less and no more "People blame me, but I am a witness". And the end let us thinking on why it ended that way. I would love a second part with more backstory.Don't compare to the ones I mentioned, there is no comparison, each have their own soul. 9/10 highly recommended, at least for me.And this will always be with me: "The things that I see would make angels weep. And they have wept."
jtindahouse 'Let Us Prey' is a film that's own creativity is in a way its biggest downfall, which is a shame. The film is set in Purgatory (not confirmed but heavily implied) with a small group of incredibly unlikeable people occupying a police station and being influenced by 'Six', who is the devil (again not confirmed but heavily implied). The problem is that because every character is so unlikable you find yourself unable to care for any of them or their fate. There's an attempt to make the character of 'Rachel' the protagonist, but even she comes across as a bit of a wet paper towel. Consequently the film really struggles to draw any emotion out of its audience. The devil is in complete control of the movie from the minute he enters. There's no attempt to fight back or combat the situation (there is but it doesn't even get 'Six' to stand up) and so what we end up with is something that we knew was going to happen all along taking 90 minutes to get there. It's not all bad though. The character of 'Sgt. MacReady' gives us a fun ride and 'Six' was played very stylishly by Liam Cunningham. The Irish accent can often be very hard to pick up for the rest of us but I thought the majority of the cast did a good job with clear dialogue which was for the most part pretty audible. It's a cool little idea but I think for it to really work the character of 'Rachel' had to be a lot more likable. A fun enough ride but ultimately not scary enough to work as a horror film.
Shannon Rienholtz I liked the plot line. The actors they picked were pretty good. The special effects were poor to say the least. A woman who gets shot in the spine with a shotgun is not going to walk away. A woman who gets shot in the shoulder with a shotgun would not have a tiny red mark, her entire f-ing arm would be gone! The part where wannabe homo-Rambo shoots a GAS can being launched at him and sets himself on fire was so ridiculous, and the fire was laughably fake. The death scene of the obnoxious bitch cop was great though. I laughed out loud at her demise. I wish they had gone a little more into detail with the reason for everyone being there. It was easy enough to put the pieces together, but not much fun. It was more like a kids 8 piece puzzle than an adult 1,000 piece. More information about the kidnapper or the guy the two cops killed, or more background on Sargent McCannibal would have been nice. And then you have the end. ??? The end leaves you with that annoying "WTF??" feeling, where you wish the movie would have just ended 2 min ago instead of adding in that extra piece of crap to mess with your head. BUT, I do give it a seven for the pure fact that it was a good idea, it just could have been executed better. And I liked the old guy...until the very end.
