Rinku Barman I hardly give 10 stars to a movie. But this movie is so brilliantly made, that it deserves full 10 stars. This movie is sure to make your eyes filled with tears. When I turned on the movie to watch it, I could not take my eyes from the screen. The acting of the small girl and father was simply mind blowing. I wonder how the Koreans gets the idea to make such a movie with so good story line. If you are an emotional person, this movie should be warned before you watch. This movie has simply made me to search more and more Korean movies and watch them. You should definitely give a try to watch this movie, if you are hoping to watch a good movie.
kalaiarasane-189-301046 I watched this movie last night and I haven't recovered from the impact the movie created in me yet. Initially, I thought this would be a usual jail break thing, but the characterization, screenplay and the humor really made it an awesome flick(only problem was I had to use English subs to understand the dialogues), but be ready to wet your eyes at the end of the movie. The little girl's acting(she actually lived as Ye- Seung) is what the lubricant to the movie I really loved her acting and the director took a good care of every single shot and the characters(though there are some usual scenes like Ryu Seung-Ryong rescuing the prisoner captain and the jail don to attain the sympathy from them) and gave a masterpiece. Every character in the movie played their part well especially Won-sang Park, Man-shik Jeong, Dal-su Oh and Kim Jung Tae and the prisoner guard who will come and enquire every time....and last but not least The soul of the movie Ryu Seung-Ryong has done a fabulous job...hats off!!!(I believe I have mentioned all of the character)...1...2...3...
Reno Rangan Like tween girls in Japanese anime, tween girls are in Korean live shot movies. There are plenty of movies had seen success on father-tween daughter or similar combo. Those were really cool comedies and some were action-thrillers. This is one of those kinda where it deals a mentally challenged father and his 6 year old daughter. It has been a fun filled movie with often character emotion strikes strongly. From the director of 'Champ' who again portrayed childish father and brave daughter relationship in this movie as well. There no much deviation in those two characters, only circumstances changes here. Lee is a mentally challenged of 6 year old mind who got a daughter with same age. He works in a supermarket and earns enough for his little family. They lead a regular smooth life like everyone until Lee gets arrested for a criminal offense. Now this child got no elders to take care after her father. How this innocent little girl fight for her father is what the movie portrayed in its remaining. It was a heartwarming family movie with equally fun and melodrama filled story. Frankly to say I did not like it as much as everybody else around me because the emotions looked a bit fake to me. To me it looked alike 'The Green Mile' with total changed scenario. Why am saying it mean I love emotional themes, it is one of my favourites. The kid performed very well though and the convincing father character. At least you might like it more than me because it's got lots of positive responds from movie goer everywhere. So what you are waiting for, give it a try.
banjo-james-774-111511 This movie was corny, with a few pieces of fairly unbelievable plot etc etc. But worth watching because it for some reason I can't put my finger on, really gets to you.I watched it at a Korean film festival in Sydney. Because the lass wanted me to join her. Expected nothing, then wham, I got to cry a bit, very nice experience.I don't cry often during movies. When I do, it's getting a little bit of a blurry eye, not having tears running down my face. Come to think of it, I'm 40, the last time I remember crying was when the family dog died over 15 years ago.For some jolly reason, I cried during this movie. Tears running down face crying. I think it's worth watching just for that reason alone.Take your lass with you and watch this, your lack of tears when the daughter died in downton abbey etc etc will be forgotten, and when accused of being stone hearted, you can point back to this movie....
