Reviews

Davis P Now if any of you have read any of my previous reviews, then you'll know that I typically don't care for Christian films, just because usually they are either cheesy (Courageous) or horribly offensive (Audacity, Gods not dead). Yes, moms night out is technically a Christian movie, having references to Jesus, and being written by Christian writers. Bit honestly it's just a funny comedy film, wouldn't have known it was a Christian movie if it wasn't for knowing who the writers are, and those couple references to Jesus. I really enjoyed Sarah drew (Radio) here, she plays the stressed out mom desperately in need of a girls night out very well. Patricia heaton (the middle) was probably my favorite here, she was hilarious as she always is in shows like the middle and everybody loves Raymond. The rest of the cast was alright. Alex Kendrick, as usual, just wasn't that good, I feel like maybe be tries, but here and in pretty all his movies, he just isn't that good of an actor. All in all, moms night out has funny moments, it's cute. It's not gonna win any awards for its writing or its acting, but if you're looking for a fun popcorn film to watch one night, maybe this is it. 7/10.
bkoganbing With the preaching kept to a minimum this Christian film is all right for the general movieggoing public. As the title says it concerns with some hardworking moms who would just like a night out to themselves if their alpha male husbands would mind the kids. But that proves easier said than done because the guys are used to doing their guy thing and minding the kids is a chore that they learn to appreciate. Appreciate that it's the women who do that 24/7 with little thanks.Sean Astin and Sarah Drew are a pair of attractive leads and Patricia Heaton gives a nice performance as the pastor's wife of the church the women all attend. She needs a night out too and the scene where she's accidentally tasered by a cop is hilarious.Nice comedy for general audiences as well.
clearthinkernow This is probably the worst movie I have ever seen. Granted, I've missed the classic worsts by paying attention to reviews, so I confess I've never seen Gigli, Showgirls and Glitter. But this one caught me off- guard. I love Patricia Heaton, our hometown girl, love Sarah Drew from Gray's Anatomy, have always loved Sean Astin and have recently come to love Alex Kendrick but, even with all that going for it, I have wasted my day with this one. I never allowed my son to watch Barney, even though every other kid was watching and singing along. And that's for the same reason I'm begging you to avoid this one: nothing but time- wasting, brain cell killing fluff. The ending was tender, but we knew it was coming. Wish I hadn't had to pay with my life to get there. Not funny at all. Stupid is never funny to me. Stay away.
Sam-953-169285 This was not funny for me at all. I think most of the humor is from smart people being stupid and hysterical. There is also very little that seems sweet to me. The part where Allyson painted her wall is sweet.I recommended this to my mother and she gave up on it after about a half an hour. The only good part is Sarah Drew. Her character was not amusing but she is always worth watching.I hope most people enjoy this movie, I hope my experience is not representative of most people but I sure don't understand why so many people think it is very funny and sweet.
