Paul Magne Haakonsen Right, well I must start out with saying that I wasn't particularly impressed with "Night of the Demons 2", just as I wasn't overly impressed with the first movie. In fact, I feel that these American versions of the Italian "Demons" movies were just unnecessary movies. Why not just watch the originals? The storyline in "Night of the Demons 2" is every bit as simplistic and easy to follow as it was in the first movie. An ancient demon is woken from its slumber and it starts to prey on unwary people, turning them into ferocious demons in the process.Indeed a very simple storyline and an equally simple movie to keep up with. You just simply switch into auto-pilot mode and just lean back and watch the events on the screen. "Night of the Demons 2" does not challenge the intellect of the audience in any way.As for the acting in the movie, well let's just say that it was adequate. In fact, I don't really think that anyone stood out as being particularly memorable. Mind you, it was not really the acting that was to blame here, but the fact that the actors and actresses had so very little to work with in terms of script and character development. It was, however, somewhat of a surprise to see actress Christine Taylor in a movie such as this. The effects in "Night of the Demons 2" were adequate, taking into consideration that this movie is from 1994. Don't get your hopes up for anything grand or overly memorable though. All in all, "Night of the Demons 2" is a fairly standard - and I dare say generic - horror movie from the mid-1990's.On a plus side, I just found out that there is a third movie to this movie series. I didn't know that, and just found out when I searched for "Night of the Demons 2" here on IMDb. However, given the track history of the previous two movies, I doubt that I will chase after the third movie. Perhaps if I happen to come across it by some sheer random luck or cosmic fate.Back on track. I can't really say that I find the American version more enjoyable than the Italian versions. But hey, we all have different individual likes and dislikes."Night of the Demons 2" scores a mediocre five out of ten stars from me. It didn't bring anything new or exciting to the horror movie. But it still turned out to be entertaining enough for what it turned out to be.
jessegehrig Is this the first one or the second one? Oh, I see it now, it's 2, the second one. Human sexuality is where babies come from- penises and vaginae all through history in furious union. Just spreading out that DNA across the world. This movie is about animals called Baldies, which is a species of hairless bipedal ape. These Baldies are driven by hormonal impulses to be cruel and engage in sex. Also there is The Holy Ghost plus demons. See, a Baldy writer put forth the script, so that a Baldy producer working in conjunction with a Baldy film director, assembled a cast of Baldy actors to play out the roles of characters, and that's what movies are. Money is spent cocaine is done people are slept with and regrets are then born to haunt for years afterward.
callanvass The original is one of my favorite horror movies. It's the epitome of a party movie, and incredibly entertaining. This is nowhere near as good as Night of Demons, but considering it went straight to video it's actually decent entertainment, if you kick your brain to the curb. Like the original, its void of character development and it relies on cheesy entertainment, which it does quite well. The gore is very creative in this one. A jaw is ripped off, someone gets beheaded, and my personal highlight, the weird snake like creature, which strangely happens as a result of possessed lipstick (!) The biblical aspect plays a big part in this movie as well. Jennifer Rhodes is a blast as Sister Gloria. She's a bit of a stickler in the first half, with her overly strict ways, but that turns into kick-ass mode in the second half. Her character is all over the place, and it actually serves the film extremely well. She was a lot of fun. Amelia Kinkade reprises her role of Angela from the first movie. She's older, and not quite as hot. She's still a hoot, though. Cristi Harris makes for a solid heroine, whilst Ben Stiller's wife, Christine Taylor shows up and looks hot. You won't catch me complaining. We have also entered into the realm of the bizarre here. We get balloons, super-soaker's, a nun with martial art skills. It's all very OTT, but quite fun if you let yourself get sucked into it. I would watch this back to back with the original on Halloween night. You'll find your Halloween well spent. If you don't have a party to go to of your own, kick back with Angela!6.3/10
ctomvelu1 An ambitious sequel, NIGHT 2 shifts back and forth from a Halloween dance at a Catholic school to further antics at Hull House. Several students decide to ditch the school party and raise the roof at Hull House instead. Big mistake. Angela is back, and performs yet another slithery dance (remember that the actress was a ballet dancer). This time around, we have a nun and a priest to add to the merriment, and in fact the nun steals almost every scene she is in. The special effects are still pretty dreadful, but the filmmakers have upped the gore quotient as well as the laughs, which were pretty much nonexistent in the original. The big battle with Angela at the end is the movie's one clever bit of special effects, and well worth the wait. There was a huge lag between the original and this first sequel, and one can see the influence of several bigger-budget horror flicks on NIGHT 2, most notably FRIGHT NIGHT.
