Night Skies(2007) is a great movie with spooky moments definitely not for the faint hearted. On the DVD disk you can SEE more of Richard and Lily on the UFO and HEAR more gunshot and screams. And if you watch closely in the scene where Richard is in the forest after shooting the other guy, you can see a real freaky alien! Yipes! I flinched after later glimpsing the alien again when Richard got back on the RV. Totally scary as we see Lily running for her life(or maybe it was one of the other girls ?) and trying to make it till morning after they get abducted and Richie has to kill her. Yipes! The cops at the end of the film find Richie scared as hell! Definitely not to miss! 9.98/10! Hire it out or buy it today!

Last night there was absolutely nothing on TV but then there was this film on the horror channel. Night skies it was called i'd already read about it in fangoria once so i decided to watch it.The film was about phoenix lights that were seen march 13th 1997. The film starts quite slow until the point were it starts to build up some excitement. The aliens were quite menacing looking and the special effects were all rather good. What was most interesting about this film is that this was apparently based on true events but obviously some parts were added for a certain amount of scares.The film is not a must see but is quite unsettling and quite disturbing worth your time if you can be bothered.

Wow. I actually just went through the IMDb registration just to leave a note about this movie. Don't watch it! I actually wanted to scratch up the DVD so someone doesn't feel like I do when they rent the copy I have.The characters are (written) so stupid that, like someone else commented here, I was totally rooting for the aliens! If people actually act like these people acted, I have to move out of Arizona. If you put them all together, they're as dumb as a box of hair.I think the effects would have been better if they had more than a pan light, some dry ice, and a case of silly string (pink and yellow, it's for the end). If one girl can get sucked up by light, why do all the aliens follow them around the woods? These guys mastered space flight, right? FYI to filmmaker: blood, not translucent; superglue, not a truncate; and why would they not have first aid, but they have a block of about 8 knives? Errr!!Had to get it off my chest. If you've seen it, you'll understand; if you haven't, don't.

At the time of this writing it has a 4 average rating. That's just ludicrous for a movie of such quality. I don't understand the complaints I've read about the acting in the least bit. It was all quite believable and I was actually surprised how well they managed in the strange premise of such slander-sensitive material. Instead of seeing the actors' awareness of being in a movie that's doomed from the start because of its subject matter, they have not shown this at all. What makes it extra tense is exactly the fact that the actors did such a fine job in making it possible to identify with them. I've seen a lot of thrillers based on this exact same theme, and this is BY FAR one of the best. Amazing last 15 minutes, splendid work on the visual effects. The low budget does not show.Sure, it might have some predictable elements in it, but I wasn't bothered by them one second while watching it fly by. Simply very well executed script-writing, beautiful camera-work, full of good raw tension and really scary at times, even more so thanks to the unknown documentary-like doubts it will raise in the viewer's minds.Very often bad or cheap audio gives away the mediocrity of such a movie, but not so here! Top notch quality and extremely fitting sound will help this movie gain cult-status. Hats off to the engineers and all those involved in scoring, arranging, editing and mixing for this film. For that I'm tempted to give it an 8, but I have voted 7 because in my opinion the movie should have been fifteen minutes longer, to show some more of the documented facts surrounding the true story for example.
