justindrunagel The trailer is nothing like the movie. Good enough story, but everything about it looks like a home-made movie. Bad acting, terrible audio, horrendous cinematography, fake Katherine Heigl.
willowwear00 I liked this movie for what it is: Couple are left behind in ocean, wait to die or get rescued. Dont know until end which is will be.But this one has a plot hole the size of the ocean. Blanchard Ryan is gorgeous. She is fully nude early on and unforgettable. She and boyfriend get on boat with maybe 10 other people plus 3 in crew. Ryan is clearly the only gorgeous woman on board. But when the couple fail to return on time, no one on board notices her missing? In real life, EVERY guy and most of the women noticed her and would notice if she wasnt back on board. Yet the story would come apart if someone did notice so they just ignored the obvious.
thomas196x2000 Seriously, this reminds me of that stupid Ryan Reynolds movie where the guy is buried alive, thinks he is going to get rescued, and ends up buried alive. So, two people are left behind in the water, struggle to survive, and then are eaten alive/drown. Isn't that nice? This is what you invest your time in, watching people flounder and die horribly. What kind of people come up with this dreck, and who green lights it? How much better this could have been if being adrift was just part of the adventure, and maybe they do get rescued, but by some evil creeps that they have to figure out how to get away from.See, I improved it 500% in just a few minutes. But no, Hollywood is so brain dead, and audiences are so brain dead they'll just watch anything, no matter how morbid, dreadful and senseless it is.Screw this movie, and the people that enjoy films like this.
tdrish That's correct. I talked to a lot of people about this movie. Some thought it was a good movie, but they still did not admit to liking it. Some say they hated it, even though they admitted it was a good movie. So what did I think of it? Well...I, too, thought it was a good movie. It was crafted well, with realism exploding off the charts. I do regret to tell you, however, despite this being a well made film, I did not like it enough to add it to any of my favorites. It was based on a true story, I get it, and nobody would dream in a million years that everything will end the way the movie ended. All I kept thinking, and think to this day, is "You idiots! If you would have stayed with the boat, none of this would have happened to you!" There was no accident, they voluntarily went off yonder on their own, and the boat left, thinking that everyone was accounted for. All but two. All but one, likable couple, stranded out in open water with the blood thirsty sharks. The film does an excellent job of giving you the feel that you are really out there with them, and the frightening feeling of expecting the unexpected from below the waters. It was well made, hands down. However, I cannot go around recommending this to any of my family or friends. I wouldn't even recommend my enemies to watch this. I did think everything was spot on, and everything passed with flying colors, but there is just an "off" feeling about it all, and I can't put my finger on why. It's just one of those rare movies where you feel you were not let down, but you didn't like what you saw either, and apparently others agree, or this would have had a higher rating. Great job from the lead actor and actress, and a great job from the director, but let's face it: Nobody wants to be put in these kind of situations. So why would any one want to watch it?
