This movie is simply bad. And not in an amusing way. I'm amazed how they thought they'd earn money on this? It's simply too crappy. In fact the costumes and overall quality of the movie is so low, that when we starting to watch this movie, I freaked out a little: I thought I'd mistakenly put on a porn flick. I'm sorry to say, but that's the only laugh we got out of this movie.If you watch porn movies for the story -- then this movie is for you.Don't waste your time on this one. I've already wasted too much.

PIRATES OF TREASURE ISLAND Starring: Lance Henricksen, Tom Nagel and Rebekah Kochan. Long John Silver has some treasure, Not his, and he has to hide it and get it at a later date. That's the plot, Now executed by Lance Henricksen and Theasylum regulars. The cast stood out with great accents and commitment. Tom Nagel had the thankless role as the hero. Rebekah Kochan looked the best I've seen her, She can fight too-Sometimes just with her blouse .Lance Henricksen seems an odd choice for LJS(What a tasty franchise),But he was great and so into Villain-mode. Okay, final score,The ship looked great, Island scenes rocked and The occasional creature was welcome.

My whole family enjoyed this movie. My daughter is a fan of any pirate movie, We liked the dialog and the action a bit predictable but what movie isn't any more. This movie had some good scenes on the island and the sets were remarkable. We enjoyed the interaction between Lance and Tom they had a chemistry that is remarkable. The only reason we rented this movie was because Tom Nagel is in it. With the budget they made this movie with, We found it quite enjoyable. This will be our next purchase at the DVD counter. I watched the butcher after this one and it was good my kids loved it especially when the girl got cut in half through the sun-roof.

As I was watching the display of some of the most awful attempts at acting that I've likely ever seen, I kept wondering, 'Is this a spoof? Is this the Hollywood version of phishing?' OK. You go in and rent a movie for the evening and see the pirates splashed on the cover and think, 'Oh, a costume drama, as it were.' Besides, there's Lance Henrikson, the poor man's version of Clint Eastwood-- you know: tall, rangy with the same tight-lipped twang and contempt-filled scowl in the eyes-- it's gotta be OK. Well, even an old movie watcher like me can get taken in. This strange, discombobulated version of RLS's classic, with the name changed only slightly and the same list of characters slotted into different roles, with characters out of the rejects of a small town high school play, is not merely terrible, it's amazingly awful. I kept looking for a point in which it would be obvious that this was a lampoon but the whole thing kept lumbering on, taking itself a lot more seriously than it deserved. I mean they pulled out ever device you can think of, from snatches of Jules Verne's Mysterious Island with huge insects to jumping around on a staged deck, supposedly in the midst of a raging storm at sea. After viewing this debacle, my wife and I were both left wondering: "How they were able to create this parody of an attempt at entertainment with a straight face?"
