zarakian Just when you thought the Finns had no sense of humour along come this film and proves you right! This is the sort of film you get from some idiot who thinks. 1. i am really clever 2. i am just so funny 3. I am bit of a rebel don't you know. The main characters are just so crap and annoying you actually hope "Santa" will kill them off in the first 15 minutes and spare you the rest of this garbage, unfortunately not. Of course there are those who give it a good review but then they think 1. i am really clever 2. i am just so funny 3. I am bit of a rebel don't you know. In short this is a movie Santa would make you watch if you had been naughty. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!
Sorpse this movie definitely surprised me at how well rounded it was. The acting was all very good from the adults to the outstanding actor who played Pietri. The kid was great. The whole vibe of the movie had both a quirky and creeping feeling to it. The kid was constantly afraid of Santa and the precautions he takes were very amusing and tongue in cheek funny. There were also some offsetting depressing vibes that made you care about the characters and I was not expecting that. The emotions in this film are so widespread that it definitely stands out as above average Christmas film, not even just a Christmas horror which is the reason why I watched it. This is a great Christmas movie to watch with the whole family or just by yourself.
larcher-2 Scrooge was right about Christmas: in fact, it's worse than a humbug. It's a horror movie. And Santa is really serious about who's naughty and nice--so be good kids or else. This movie ought to be run on a 24 hour Christmas Day rotation with A Christmas Story, since it too deals with a small boy who gets a gun.Santa Claus has been buried deep in the Lapland permafrost for a very long time and for a very good reason. An obnoxious American capitalist digs him up for no evident reason and in the end pays the price (I guess he was naughty). Fortunately, this film's version of Ralphie is a better shot and also knows what to do with dynamite. Also, Santa's elves are marketable, so I guess after all what really matters about Christmas is that it's a serious money maker.I never realized until now how funny the Finns were.
Callum Assinder A creepy tale about Santa Claus, a demon-like horned creature that spanks children who are naughty to death and who apparently also eats raw meat. During the movie they showed great illustrative depictions of Santa which was a little bit of a let down when they find the real Santa, a creepy and skinny old man. Later it is unraveled that this is actually one of his many elves who are hellbent on protecting their boss (also explains how "Santa" can be in more than one place at once) The real Santa is a huge horned creature encased in an enormous ice block prison. My only issue is that you don't get to see the real Santa in action whatsoever, this may well be due to the budget of the movie, it also annoyed me how easy they managed to do away with him. But all in all, a very original title with a lot of great things going for it! Finding a decent stream of this in English was hard work but definitely worth the time. Will probably watch with friends at some point in the near future :)
