For this second installment of the REC series, we follow a four-man SWAT team that have been called in to handle the events inside the ill-fated apartment building from the first movie. Along with a doctor from Spain's version of the CDC, they have to try and get a blood sample from the person who started the whole episode so they can work on an antidote. However, things don't go as planned and the SWAT team find themselves fighting for their own lives.REC 2 is actually, thankfully, better than Quarantine 2 and I think mainly that's because REC 2 at least follows up and actually works alongside the first. Quarantine 2 doesn't have anything to do with it's predecessor - it's just a crappy stand-alone sequel. REC 2 isn't as good as REC but it's not too far off it. This one is actually darker and a bit more disturbing & violent than the first, so be prepared for a more intense movie.The sound effects for the infected people (like the first film) - especially for a young girl - very much add to the visuals which creeps you out more. Also, the way everything is shot from helmet cams attached to each member of the SWAT team works nicely. It's like looking through the eyes of that person, and that brings about it's own unnerving atmosphere as it's like you are right there with that team member. This creates a good few uneasy, creepy moments...especially when a camera goes to night-vision.As mentioned above, REC 2 actually takes place during and after the events of the first film, and it combines pretty well, so if you were to watch REC and then go straight onto REC 2 it is pretty much like watching one almost 3-hour long movie.REC 2 is a pretty enjoyable movie, and while it has more of a zombie feel to it rather than supernatural, it's still definitely worth watching, unlike Quarantine 2.

i made an account just to review this movie. and to all the hardcore horror fans out there that like found footage films like VHS, paranormal activity, grave encounters... this film is for you. It's full of suspense! the first one was amazing but this sequel really made me horrified. I don't usually give low-budget horror movies a try but the cast and crew really gave their all to make a horror movie. I would definitely put this movie on one of the top notch found footage movies like VHS. the storyline just meshes well with the first one and makes it a plausible film to watch. the shooting of first-person makes it feel like your on a roller coaster ride of a horror video game!

I was hoping for quite a lot after the first, especially since this was picking up the story just hours after the first {Rec} movie's ending.I was massively disappointed. The plot never delivered & the camera work was very annoying. Why was the building in the dark? Wouldn't the authorities have ensured the SWAT/Research team had electric lights? I found the very forced darkness with torch beams to be a highly irritating feature of this.Having your main characters wearing full body armour with helmets means that often you are left wondering "who the hell IS that???" 'til they spoke a name. The religious angle was possibly better in the Spanish but in English translation it was just plain stupid.Even now I think I may have rated this tripe too heavily with a "4". Don't waste 90 mins of your time on this is my advice.

I loved the first Rec movie. It was like a movie sent from hell directly to my address to scare the living crap out of me which it did and i loved it so i could not wait for the sequel. The sequel picks up where the first movie ended, thats great. The movie goes on just as the first, but thats great. The movies ending is not like the first which showed up to be CRAP!! They ruined the whole "hoping for a trilogy" dream. But its worth being seen:) The acting is still pretty good and the thing about the Spanish language is that they talk so fast so it gives the movie a stres factor, pluss since you got running infected people chasing you, and they are fast f...... to so with the language it just makes your head stres but in a positive way. Its still scary and it leaves a shivering scar in the soul. Great work from the Spanish-horror-armada;)
