tbills2 I love Reno 911! on Comedy Central it's easily like my favorite funniest show, except for Seinfeld and The Simpsons and Friends obviously and probably about 5 or so other shows I can't remember at the moment but NEVERTHELESS, I love Reno 911!: Miami and if this were an episode of the television series, it would be the most epic and the most best episode ever HOWEVER, this is the big screen in the big leagues with the big dogs and since I paid money to see this/didn't, it kind of sucks balls even though it's really funny and I love it. These characters are so funny and very relatable I love them all. They're the best. All the side characters the deputies deal with is pretty much the best part of Reno. People who hate on this movie just must not be that in to funny because like I did say, even though Reno 911!: Miami kind of sucks balls, major balls even, incredible, Miami drenched sweaty major balls....it's seriously hilarious and funny the whole way through with great sketches from its uproarious characters and way sexier than the series, dang, that's the movie's big improvement from the TV show, its raw and raunchy sex appeal, that and the big budgeted effects. It would be weird and it would be perverted if I went without saying that I do appreciate the nudity and the near nudity, from everyone but particularly the main stars. No one's ugly, Niecy Nash as Deputy Raineesha Williams, Kerri Kenny as Deputy Trudy Wiegel, Mary Birdsong as Deputy Cherisha Kimball and the dude deputies Carlos Alazraqui as Deputy James Garcia, Cedric Yarbrough as Deputy S. Jones, Robert Ben Garant as Deputy Travis Junior and pack leader Thomas Lennon as Lt. Jim Dangle in his tiny tight patrol shorts all are looking sexy but the older I get and the more I see Wendi Mclendon-Covey as Deputy Clementine Johnson especially in this, the hornier she gets me and I'm not even that old! Wendi's bust is busting out of her busted open uniform top constantly and I love it! Danny DeVito, Patton Oswalt, David Koechner, the guy from Upright Citizens Brigade and a million other movie roles I can't remember plus I don't feel like looking up his name oh screw it, what's his name, Ian Roberts, The Rock, the one guy who plays the Miami innkeeper who's always on the show playing that pure hilarious white trash dude with the kiddie pool in his front yard, Toby Huss, Nicky Swardson as Terry is simply the best and funniest reappearing character, Paul Reubens as Terry's hilarious dad, and but of course, the Ant-Man/Paul Rudd's really funny as fake Scarface and fake Scarface's mom, Mindy Sterling whom I really love in her reappearing funny role and Dave Holmes from MTV. That's all I know. I like the gator scene. This movie's nice and hot and funny and not all that bad but hilarious, and really sexy, and way more deserving than it will ever get credit for and way more decent, just like the series! Miami rules!
rogerb-391-111246 send-up of popular TV-reality show COPS - Reno 911 is a cult hit series on cable and now adapted into full motion picture.Set in (where else but) Reno, Nevada, the bumbling law enforcers are 'invited' to national police convention in Miami Beach; inadvertently becomes the only cops available to patrol the city after a bio-terrorism attack results in local police quarantined in the convention hotel. The Miami town will never be the same again with these incompetents running the show.Entertaining mockumentary is short on subtlety but high on farce.Wonderful comic montage in the seedy motel parodies Hitchcock's' Rear Window. Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson in a funny cameo and Paul Rudd takes a leaf from Al Pacino's Scarface as Ethan the Drug Lord.
Mattias Petersson I saw this movie along with a friend who has weird fascination with the "Reno 911" TV-series. I've watched the series a couple of times and it has a few moments where it's pretty funny, but in general i'm not a fan. This movie however focuses on the parts of the series that doesn't work and makes it an hour and a half long...First of all i can say that i have no problems with silly comedy, in fact some of my favorite comedies are downright silly. So i'm not the kind of person who demands a high level of intellectualism to the jokes. But still there has to be a limit. Mostly though, Reno 911 just isn't funny. They try all kinds of classic jokes. Everything from sex to crashing cars to being foul-mouthed. And i rarely laughed. There are a few decent moments, like the short but sweet cameo by The Rock as a tough but clumsy SWAT-cop.Mostly though this movie has the same kind of random comedy that the TV-series does. It's like the script-writers have no idea what's going to be funny. They just slam a bunch of scenes together and a few turn out funny, most of them don't. Part of the problem of course is the rather lousy acting from most people involved. The pace is very slow at times and the actors lack the right timing to be funny. No, this just isn't good enough. Far from it.I rate it 2/10.
mmkipster Okay, I've watched the series / sitcom on and off over the years and usually found it more or less light hearted and at least enjoyable, so I thought the movie would be at least the same, and hopefully a notch up from the TV show. However, I did have a hunch it wasn't worth theater prices so I waited for it to come out on video. Anyway, I rented this movie for $1 and feel I was horribly ripped off. I found this movie so offensively horrible that now I don't think I will be able to watch the sitcom any longer (which is a shame because I kind of enjoyed it). The writing is so base and purely unfunny that even on their best days the actors could not have made it into something humorous. As a last hope I thought there might be outtakes, bloopers, something, ANYTHING on the extras that might have salvaged this movie, but no luck. There was at least a scene with the director which shed light on why this movie was so poor.
