daisyfebbo This was one of my favorite childhood "scary" movies, now I just use it to be safe when traveling because regardless the horror movie theme, events similar to this do occur all around the world. I absolutely love this movie, its thrilling!
Ben Larson Now, I am a little confused. Your boyfriend has disappeared, and it seems that some psycho may be responsible, but you spend your time polishing off a bottle of Wild Turkey while you wait for rescue. What a way to stay sharp! But, it did enable her to go back into that disgusting bathroom and actually sit on that disgusting toilet. Yech! Ghosts, torture, terror, religious nuts, SAW flashes, and starring Jaimie Alexander, who was in several TV shows I have never seen. She used a body double for her breasts, but had no difficulty with a string of foul words. Maybe she used a voice double for that.It was terrifying and exciting, and had some really great moments towards the end. It's not torture porn, just good terrifying thrills.
Matt Kracht The plot: A young woman runs away from home, only to be terrorized by a psychopath at a rest stop.Rest Stop could have been good, but the writer/director decided to throw in every single clichéd plot element that he could think of: psychopathic serial killer, creepy religious cult, deformed mutant, haunted house, ghosts, and kidnapped spouse. If it had just focused on a few of these things, instead of an incoherent pastiche of every horror movie cliché imaginable, this could have been an enjoyable, low budget movie.Rest Stop also suffers from boring filler, pointlessly long scenes, and an understated, subtle story that's too confusing for many viewers to follow. It's a movie that may require multiple viewings to understand, but few people will actually like the movie enough to actually sit through it again, just to decipher the hidden clues. As a 20-30 minute short film, this would have been enjoyable and short enough to go back and watch again. As a full-length feature, however, it's too slow-paced and boring to sit through again.I would recommend Rest Stop mainly to fans of independent horror and psychological horror. It's not a particularly good example of psychological horror, but it does manage to hit most of the clichés by the time the credits roll. Stick around for a brief scene that may give you a few more hints as to what's going on. If you've been paying attention, it will probably explain the most confusing aspects of the movie.
rainbowijij I just finished watching this. what a waste of time!!! Actually I didn't watch the complete movie, I couldn't stand it around an hour later and then I just fast forwarded and skipped some boring dialogs. The whole movie was totally NONSENSE!!!!!!! The ONE and ONLY important question about this movie: Why the heck didn't Nicole just walk for help?? She could have gone so far if she walks for help at the very beginning. I can understand that walking miles away and leaving boyfriend behind is not a good choice at the beginning. But after few hours she should leave there!!! The killer was NOBODY to this movie as I didn't know how he looks like. (I know just like The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, we didn't have to know how the killer actually looks like.) But what I mean is at least the killer should be a main character in the movie which I couldn't feel in Rest Stop. And what is that ghost thing? the girl named Tracy? obviously she was a ghost but what was the point to put her there? Speaking about the cop, it was all jokes. why didn't Nicole just pull the cop to the room next to her after he has been run over by the truck, and pulled him to the toilet instead? And the shooting scene, oh god, laugh out loud. and when the fire started, the cop was gone, where was his body? so many questions in my head now... I won't recommend this to anyone, even huge horror fans...
