Arlene Belony The characters acting was good but the movie itself was just.... Blah. It's like watching a movie and waiting for the movie to really start. It's about a dirty bomb going off in L.A and you're thinking action, suspense and drama but all you get through out the movie is a lot of crying and duct tape. Through out the movie it talks about how the chemicals from bomb is dangerous and maybe even deadly but not one time do you see someone who had inhaled the chemicals from the bomb die, harm, or even infect anybody. All I could say is when you get to the end of the movie you're going to be wondering which was safer the house or outside
Kat Webb Three dirty bombs go off in L.A. which mean the whole city is on lockdown. This movie follows the story of a man living near the city with his wife. All we see is him doing what the radio tells him to do for 90 minutes. This would make a good educational video if it wasn't sold as a disaster movie. It just teaches you how authorities say "We're here to help you" while pointing a gun in your face.Unless you're going to make a disaster movie which shows us what's happening then don't bother. Having a radio playing reports over and over is very dull and extremely lazy.
Riftmann A great start, but moves into a boring, predictable poorly scripted, poorly acted mess. The reactions of the people are realistic for the most part, it's the science behind the whole premise that is bad. Dirty chemical bombs? Biological bombs? Dirty bombs are radioactive waste spread by explosion. Chemical and Biological agents would be hurt by explosions not spread. For a low budget movie the effects of the start are good. The acting and realism of the character's actions are good, but then it all goes down hill very rapidly. I have a hard time believing that other reviewers were actually scared by this movie. It enters a surreal, 'twilight zone' predictable last half, which wouldn't be so bad if it was trying for realism. Without spoiling things, I figured out the 'surprise' ending half way through the movie, or maybe sooner than that... I suppose people that like this sort of thing would appreciate the movie more than I did, but the flaws ruined it for me... I can't really fault the bad script, bad acting, since it was such a low budget attempt, but just too many logical unrealistic errors...
sacredheartband An interesting idea/premise - well acted and nicely filmed and the end (though not a huge surprise) made for a tense climax. So the beginning set the scene nicely and the final moments were entertaining if a little harrowing, but it was after the initial interaction between the main characters had set the premise for the film it just went flat up until the very end.Shame...If they could've made that period (possibly half of the film) as interesting as the beginning and end it would have been excellent.I must admit, I didn't completely fall for the characters either. Considering the situation they found themselves in it would have been quite easy to want to fight in their corner. I didn't like either of them enough to give a fig!Still, not the worst film I've ever seen - just a little pointless...
