mxsuba26 With a good basic plot line, this film could have been so much better. Poor acting and pointless subplots droned it. Sean Bean sleep walks through the movie looking tired with a five-o'clock shadow, messy hair and rumpled clothes. His obese wife needs acting lessons as does the actor who played his son. Pointless infidelity and death of his father subplots make little sense. Amir Shah and his Parker Pen/bomb trigger spends most of his scenes eating and drinking at the home of the CIA contractor who killed his wife and son before finally revealing his mission. Not worth the time.
GUENOT PHILIPPE Nothing exceptional here, if you forget the unforeseeable ending. The terrific ending. SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS The topic has already been told many times before, I agree, thousand times, where billions of psychopaths getting friends with the families of their victims before suddenly showing their real nature. Psychopaths usually the heavies of the films. Bad guys, or even cheeks - such as HANDS ACROSS THE CRADDLE, something loke this, starring Rebecca De Mornay, seeking revenge towards good families. The particularity here is that you can't prevent yourself to feel empathy for the poor father whose family was killed by the US drome, more or less lead, driven by the good family man Sean Bean. And you really feel anger, hate, so much pain when the two finally fight and the "bad guy" seeking revenge for his family death gets stabbed by the responsible for the poor guy's folk death. You feel something disgusting in your mouth, like a sort of dust taste. That's why I ask this question, who or where is the bad guy in this film? That's my question. For the rest of the feature, no surprise, except, I repeat, the ending.
Prismark10 As the title suggests, Drone is about drone warfare. Safely ensconced behind computer screens, military contractors wage war thousands of miles away, it is remote controlled bombing raids.A drone strike in a small Pakistan town in Miramsha, Pakistan in 2016 leads to collateral damage. Civilians died, a man going off to work, his wife waving him goodbye, two women walking home. One year later Imir Shah knocks on the house of Neil Wistin in order to buy his boat which is for sale. Neil is emotionally distraught as his father has just passed away. However Imir has been tracking Neil and discovered that he has been lying to his family, he is a drone operator and he wants Neil to confess to his family what he has done.Drone after its harrowing beginning slows down the pace. We learn about the Wistin family coming to terms of the loss of a loved one but deep down it is a dysfunctional family.Imir skilfully invades Neil's life, helping him write his late father's eulogy but I find it hard to believe that even an IT expert like Imir could unearth so much about Neil and his family's activities. The film has a dramatic conclusion that leads to Neil to reconsider what he has done but it is not a wholly successful in its aims.
smsenna A decently made film, however, I am extremely offended by the political innuendos made in the film. No one wants to lose loved ones in a war, including the war on terror and it's absolutely horrible to see innocent people get killed as collateral damage. I see this film as a slap in the face to the US Government and to those defending our Country honorably.
