drd-07217 This is rare cute film that is quirky and if you have an imagination quite the trip. Excellent casting especially with the lead actress.
Ironically Unimpressed As bad an actress as Plaza is and as cheerfully try-hard this flick turned out to be, I'd still happily watch Duplass doing his taxes. On that basis, I found this movie underwhelming but still providing enough points for my attention to cling onto -- hence the most favorable rating. That aside... I mean... it's only just another formulaic, quirky rom-com. Cute at times, cringe-worthy at others, characters a little flat, narrative contextually askew in order to fit the love-story. Nothing that hasn't been done before or won't be done again -- a 'take it or leave it' effort.
alanpgini Very slow, but its worth it. Great ending, but the last words of the ending could have been better. These two things helped bring the film down a couple notches. Plus it also didn't stay true to the ad in the paper, which had inspired this story-line. Add in a small plot hole near the end, and a 9 of 10 movie becomes a 7 of 10. But they can be forgiven for these small sins. You've got to give credit to the producers who made this on a 4 thousand dollar budget, and made 4 million out of it. Who am I to nit-pick that kind of success? It's these kind of shoestring budget movies, few as they are in this quality, that makes Hollywood look like an idiots playground. Even with its problems, its well worth the watch, based upon the total package of being a sci-fi love story that works. This came out in 2012, near the same time as "The Adjustment Bureau" film. Sadly, these two didn't start a trend. Like all good films, it makes you think, after the final credits roll. I myself have always said, that regrets are for people with time machines. After all, we were who we were back then. But I'm also a sucker for a good film, or even just a good love story, that tries to answer those regrets.
scrwrrd I watched this movie before I know its title, so I didn't know its genre. I did watch this movie, thinking that "what is its genre? Comedy? SF? or Love story?" I think that theme of this movie is not time travel. I guess time travel is metaphor in the movie. Characters of this movie have any regrets or troubles in their past. However, all of them get over those regrets or troubles. I think that Darius and Kenneth also will do so. This movie seems to say "Don't stuck past, we can get over troubles in the past." Also, I think that the end of movie represents that, "we can change the future." I felt that the story deployment passed little fast, but generally it was interesting.
