charmadu I saw this last night and couldn't believe my ears and eyes. You'd be hardpressed to find a more offensive piece of garbage in the last 10 years. I always thought the 4 women (with the possible exception of Miranda) were just drag queens fantasies from a (very messed up) gay man's mind - this film really confirms that. These are not real people, much less real women, but they do make sense as drag queen cartoons. What's sad is it looks like all the actresses were either told (or told themselves) that they had to have "work" done, and unfortunately, the camera does not lie. Don't get me started on the hideous idea of sending the four cartoons to Abu Dhabi so they can give the finger to everyone there and join in eternal sisterhood with local women who are more into western fashion than they are. I think SJP and Michael whatshisface - and yes, the whole cast - should be sent to hard labor for this crime against humanity. Lessons learned: Carrie should not kiss other men other than her husband. Miranda can find another job which allows her to watch her child win 1st prize at school. Samantha can continue to end each film screaming in orgasm b/c her reason for living is to have sex and scream about it. Charlotte need not fire her bra-less nanny b/c - what luck!- turns out she is lesbian so her husband will be less likely to succeed at having an affair with her. Is it any wonder we are so despised around the planet?
rubysuzi They get what they want only to be insecure......and their spoiled...only Miranda is real, Samantha is disgusting Charlotte and Mr Big should know better..Carrie is sad and selfish.I wish they had better writers.. And watching TV is not the end of world.
Sruthi Krishna I have such high regard for Carrie. I just recently started watching the series and it certainly has grown on me. However, this movie was torture. It was simply horrendous. I have been to the middle east and trust me, no one over there is as extreme as they portray them to be in the movie. Of course, if you go around behaving like Samantha, i mean, that's enough to make anyone go a little crazy. The movie starts with no promise and constantly drops in quality from there on. The screenplay and story line was atrocious. The characters, don't get me started. I understand that movies are all about exaggeration and drama queens but this was a tad over the top even for fiction.I cant believe i wasted 2 hours of my day sitting through the entire thing. I seriously hope there isn't a 3rd part.
Danii Disaster Having read the many AWFUL reviews, and seeing the VERY low rating (4.9 at the time), I expected the worst.I was sitting there expecting to get insulted/bored/disappointed/outraged (amongst many of the awful things this movie has been called), but nothing of the sort ever happened.A lot of people seem to complain that the movie is "insulting" to the culture of the Middle East... I didn't see anything remotely insulting. Lots of movies, involving a foreign culture, will use stereotypes to portray it. This is something the viewers can understand and relate to. What's the point showing hidden traditions of a particular culture and portraying it in a different light than that known to your average viewer?? For God's sake, people, if you want an accurate/multi-dimensional portrayal of a culture, watch a DOCUMENTARY. This is fiction, and the movie has a purpose - to entertain the viewer, therefore - it's SUPPOSED to be exaggerated and stereotypical.Another popular complaint, is that these girls are not the same as in the sitcom. Hello?? And what exactly did you expect? It's been, what, OVER 1O YEARS?? Do you think these girls are going to be exactly the same as they were in the sitcom? How dumb is that? Their lives have changed (and so have their views), they have grown older, and some of them have kids -- the movie reflects these changes; it's only natural. The girls COULDN'T have remained the same!! Well, I have to say, I have never been too fond of Charlotte (not the character itself, but Kristen Davies's portrayal; more specifically: her constant OVER-acting), and she has really crossed the line in this one. Her acting was bad in the first movie, but, in this one, it's bordering on unbearable. And I didn't like that ridiculous "Irish bra-less lesbian babysitter" story, either. It was just stupid and totally over-the-top.Miranda's character was severely under-developed, and so was the story with Aidan. And, to be honest, the Carrie and Big story was a bit cheesy for my liking. I mean, fighting over the fact that a man wants to watch a little TV after work? Please! All in all, the movie was pretty well put together, and, in my opinion, the things people are complaining about, are absolutely irrelevant. The movie is FINE -- it's entertaining, there are some great clothes, and we get to see lots of familiar faces. Never a dull moment! I was not disappointed at all.
