Seller7862 This was by the far the worst 132 minutes of my life. I enjoy many types of movies and have even enjoyed some bad movies. You know the kind that are so bad they are good. Well this was just BAD... After leaving the theater I felt angry, and like my brain was molested by born again Christians. I feel cheated into paying money to watch this crap, if i had known what was to come I wouldn't have watched this movie if someone had paid me. This is not a gripe against religion, but against the movie itself. There was no depth to this movie what so ever. There was no dialogue besides literal quotes from the bible. The acting was terrible everyone was so 1 dimensional. The filming was terrible. The CG was awful. I cannot honestly say one good thing about this movie. Save your money, your time, and your brain and skip this one.^^^^^ Ad-Hominem self pity from elysian27. Why did IMDb choose to put the least professional review of this movie on the front page where people could confuse it as IMDBs endorsement of 27's opinion?
Varghjarta I must say this is thus far my most favourite cinematic adoption of the gospel. I have watched them all I believe and I love them all for the interesting perspectives they offer, often very true to the written words.I will however say I was very pleasantly surprised by the breath of fresh air this brings. I was often surprised by the inclusion of parts of the story that is often neglected by other gospel adaptions, characters and dialog, and even the timing of the story is a bit different from the rest which kept me on my toes a bit and happy to see focus on bits that allowed me to reflect a second time and discover something new even.I feel this might be what "the passion of the Christ" should have been like, a less visually bloody affair but not any less touching. You should probably see it if you have not yet :)
emgiezie I watched this movie in the cinema without having seen the series The Bible first. If I had, I would have saved myself the trouble of watching it in the big screen.Though I'm not a biblical scholar and have not mastered the books on Jesus' life, what I do know I can safely say are not consistent with what I saw in this movie. The script is poorly written, the depiction of the biblical characters are shallow and the acting is not very good. Also, one of the main problems I have of this movie is that Diogo Morgado is not how Jesus is supposed to look like. His features are not Jewish-like. The whole time I was watching, I was thinking he was a beautiful model doing a photoshoot set in historical times. Also, his weight and musculature during the crucifixion scene was laughable. I wouldn't believe that a person who was frequently fasting, carried a cross and suffered torture looked like he was in the pink of health. In short, not something I would recommend.
Marian20 Son Of God was a movie taken from the ten-hour mini-series The Bible. It stars Diogo Morgado in the title of role of Jesus. The movie narrates the life of Jesus. The movie is practically divided into two parts. The first hour shows the important different events of Jesus' life during his public ministry that includes his teachings and the different miracles that he performed. The second hour presents to us the passion, death and resurrection. Apparently,it was obvious that the film has had some continuity problems as the film seems like a collection of different events from Jesus life particularly the first part.It was obviously edited to make it a two-hour movie.Despite of it,it was still worth watching as the second part provided great moments.Overall,it was still a decent movie about Jesus which would provide the viewer great appreciation for what he did for the salvation of mankind.
