callanvass (Credit IMDb) A tight-knit group of New York City street dancers, find themselves pitted against the world's best hip hop dancers in a high- stakes showdown. They decided to take a supporting character like Moose from the second sequel, and make him a main focus here. Believe it or not… it didn't turn out too bad! Like the first two movies. Some of the dancing is extremely impressive. It has an OK love story between Rick Malambri & Sharni Vinson. The formula is starting to get a bit tiresome though. How much mileage can you possibly get out of dancing films, before they start to get old? I didn't mind this movie at all, but signs of being stale were very apparent here in my opinion. If you can't guess the ending of this movie, then you haven't seen enough moviesFinal Thoughts: I thought it was alright. It passed the time decently, but I wished they would have stopped the train here. 5.6/10
billyg101 This film is pretty p**s poor , were do i start?! Lets start positive. The dancing scenes do have some great moments but they are normally ruined with the "wanna be" hard nut attitude as if they are in a mob battle. Yeps thats the only good. Bad now....Lets get started...The acting is very poor, it's just very cheesy and reminds me of a school play. I love the scene when Luke is angry with Natalie (not going to say why for spoiler reasons) it's just bloody hilarious how bad the acting is. The storyline......Oh dear, oh dear....Its very "cliche" and makes me laugh A lot when I found out i was right about pretty much the whole story line. I don't want to give any spoilers but the ending is very very obvious....To conclude: You're probably thinking why are you watching this film you idiot. Well we had to watch it in school and trust me this is not my type of film but everything i have said is honest and true. If you are a major dance fan then go ahead as the dance scenes are pretty "badass" but if you like a "good" film then stay away as this is a pretty poor film and very predictable and makes you cringe a lot. This is a pretty short and non detailed review but i think it covers what needs to be covered and i think if you are really up for it give it a go but as the rating show prepare to be disappointed.
Murli I had zero expectations when I put this movie on and while I thought it was going to exceed my expectations the flat, insipid and clichéd storyline ruined a decent experience. Here's what went well for the movie: The dances: they are unbelievable and so much better than the dances from the first two movies. These people really take street dancing, hip hop and break dancing to a whole new level and it was really amazing to watch the dance portions of the movie It's mercifully short. Here's what didn't go right: Clichéd and jumbled storyline: a dance challenge to win money so that they can have a place to say? A super cool dude who's thinking of others and broods away in his cave? A villain who's the exact opposite of the hero? Which dance movie have we not seen this in? It's really getting rather old and pathetic. The only people who will be enthralled by the plot will be pre-teens, girl's who go "awwww" and cry a lot, guys who go "awww" and cry a lot and the village idiot.Poor acting: but then again did we all see this for the acting or the dancing? The main cast is just below average with the main guy looking and acting a bit like channing tatum, which is not going on much. The love angles: Do we really care? Is there any time spent on the couples for us to ooh and aah over? I didn't care for any of the characters because none of them had anything interesting going for them, other than their dance abilities. Yet, the director and writers added the love element to prey on couples out there but it just wasn't enough.Lame ending: is there any need for a spoiler alert? Has there been any modern music/dance movie that hasn't had a Disneylike happy ending? Stupid stuff: there was a lot of it. One was the awkward dance sequence in the street when Moose and Camille were dancing to an old song. It was nice but really weird and out of place for the movie. Supposed to be a spontaneous thing but it just looked flat and obviously rehearsed. Another dumb moment is at the end when Natalie starts dancing in cohesion with the rest of the group even though it's clear she hasn't been part of any rehearsals. All in all, this would have made a great dance MTV financed documentary because the abysmal storyline and mostly low acting brought the movie down intensely. Not enough focus is given on the characters for the viewers to either relate or to empathize with them. Thankfully, the dances do some way up for the huge shortfalls, enough to enjoy this on a Saturday night when the other options are TV sitcom reruns or golden oldie movies.
reynahernan Well first of all, this movie is NOTHING like the first one or like the second, its more like its own movie. Only one thing that this movie has in common with the others is that it has good music. It doesn't go anywhere near the school and its not as real as the others. It has a story, and the big battle and the 2 characters who like each other (havent you've herd this before.) The movie is very predictable, I mean everybody knows they're gonna win. This is a really fun movie with Hella awesome dance moves, nothing like you've seen in the first one. But this movie has its cheesy moments, like its very " LETS BATTLE IT ON THE DANCEFLOOR" type, the first one was more dark and realistic. The acting was average but the best would have to be Adam G. Sevani's character Moose. Another thing I liked was that that some of the dancers from the second were in it. I only wish Brianna Evigan could have had a cameo or a least someone from the first. I think the movie was a good fun movie and what the movie is really about is the dancing, its a lot of fun, it had its dramatic moments but you can't take em seriously. I grade this movie a 6/10. :)
