SnakesOnAnAfricanPlain Somebody tell these "film" makers that fighting games do not make good films. There are so many issues and problems that it's pointless to even try. First of all, fighting games don't really have a plot. They have some cut scenes and back story for the characters, but it's essentially all fighting. Translate this into a film and you're screwed. They are always the same. Tournament, personal motive for protagonist, fights, the end. Enter the Dragon did this perfectly all those years ago, so just stop trying. That had actual characters it could play with. Here, the characters already exist, but no actor will ever do those pixels justice. We get a whiny boy here, enters a competition for revenge, has fight after fight, and that's it. I hope this is the last of this crap. At least the animated film had invisible dinosaurs.
kevinxirau Now this is a cool movie adaptation of a video game series. I only recall playing Tekken 3 and the arcade game version. When I realized this film existed, I was surprise because while the franchise was popular, it wasn't as big as Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter. So I checked this action out and found myself impressed.Plot: After numerous wars messed up the planet, governments dissolved and corporations took over, the most powerful being Tekken, headed my Heihachi Mishima (Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa from Mortal Kombat!). Every year, a tournament called Iron Fist takes place were fighters from different corporations battle each other brutally for the people's entertainment. When his mother gets killed by Tekken's Jackhammer soldiers, Jin Kazama blames Heihachi and decides to go kill him at the Iron Fist tournament, but first he must get past the likes of Bryan Fury, Nina Williams, Yoshimitsu, and other furious fighters that are also at the tournament. This is a true action movie. Brutal fights, diverse cast of characters, sexy women, great use of music, and a cool story. It's awesome that Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa is in this movie having previously played as Shang Sung from Mortal Kombat.I'm not sure why some people didn't like this movie adaptation. I'm sure I did. This is good old-fashion tournament fighting and I highly recommend that you check this out. MORTAL KOMBAT!!! Oh, sorry, wrong game.
killswitchmagic by kloxalot "did not seem to be a video game movie...unlike " street fighter." they did a good job of making the fight scenes seem realistic. the story line wasn't to bad either. i thought this film was going to be a disappointment...i was wrong. i thought it was better than any of jaun claudes movies. the women in this movie are all hott. there was even a little bit of sex scenes that were kinda spicy. the characters all had there own unique style. the one thing i was disappointed about was that yoshimitsu made a quick appearance and did not get enough camera time. some quirks about the movie was there really no surprise ending. all around it was a pretty good action packed movie that was surprisingly good...worth the time to watch." i agree with moast of this.. really did a good job on it . my only issue was the lack of characters and the more known ones had small roles but maybe there could be a 2 coming ...each character was presented really well Looks and fighting styles .. storyline strayed a little but jump back on quick .. all and all really good game to movie transfer .. better than street fighter or mortal kombat . if your a tekken fan this is a must watch!!!
howezy-u let me just start by saying this. I am a massive fan of the Tekken series and for what it's worth i understand the video games story OK. This film is horrible honestly it is horrible probably one of the worst films i have seen and i had big expectations for this film after seeing some of the trailer. now to the films credit one thing it manages to do is get the costumes right. I mean every person who is in this film has a very close look to the characters that they are portraying, however that is it because there is nothing else in this film that is any good. One thing that annoyed me straight from the start is that Kazuya and Hehachi are working together and in the game there is only one part where they work together and that is the start animation for Tekken 5 and that was only for kazuya to set him up for a trap but in this they are happy son and father.Another thing that really annoyed me is that Christe and Jin kazama are boyfriend and girlfriend and that there is no mention of his actual girlfriend in the film atall in this whats annoying about that is the fact that they do not interact atall in the main story. even more annoying is the plot to the film with a story that makes the expendable look like inception this film is truly terrible. you owe it to yourself to go right up to the director of this film and get out money as if you are going to purchase it then say to his face. Wait why would i want a film this bad, then go and buy something good like the shawshank redemption or inception,or even if you want to watch a video game based film then buy the mortal kombat film.you no the first one
