Leofwine_draca THE TEACHER is a typical exploitation flick put out by Crown International Pictures. It's cheap and grainy, shot on the fly with the bare vestiges of a proper storyline and plenty of padding to get it up to feature length. The story is mainly romance-focused, with a senior school student getting it on with his sexy teacher, as played by Angel Tompkins who is about a decade older than her character. Inevitably in the 1970s era this turns out to be a skin flick, with lots of dressing and undressing and unnecessary shower scenes. Even with all of the associated drama this plot only comes to half length, so there's an extensive sub-plot in which the teacher is pursued by this creepy psycho guy; this is more interesting than the romance, but still very slow-moving.
NickStricharchuk The Teacher: An 18-year-old high school grad finds himself being seduced by his (married) teacher. Her husband is seldom around, though, so she's bored and oh-so horny. It's not hard for teacher to seduce the boy, particularly because of access: she's friends with his clueless mother for some reason. Also: what 18-year-old needs convincing to bang his smoking hot teacher? It turns out that there's trouble for them everywhere but between the sheets. It's unclear as to whether or not you're supposed to feel sorry for the boy's parents--particularly because they're so stupid. This is the kind of movie you watch when you're half-way gone, or at the very least on the way there. It's fun for what it is: tacky, campy fun.
Brian T. Whitlock (GOWBTW) If you want a guilty pleasure, this movie is it! It's natural for a student to have a crush on a teacher, especially the one you had on your senior year in high school. There is one teacher, Diane Marshall (Angel Tompkins) who was not only a teacher, she is the neighbor of her now former student, Sean Roberts (Jay North). Sean, is a quiet and reserved young man, who hangs out with his friend, Lou (Rudy Herrera, Jr.). They go out to the harbor where the teacher take her boat out. But she's also being watched by Lou's brother, Ralph (Anthony James), a former military man who has an unhealthy obsession with the teacher. During the day, Ralph catches them spying on the teacher, and Lou is accidentally killed. In the meantime, Diane began to set her sights on Sean. She was married to a drifter, and was never around her. So she became bored, and love-starved. Sean was very shy, but later on, Diane began to open him up more. In a nice afternoon scene, she has her shower after a day in the pool. Sean gets a lesson in love he'll never forget. Even though reluctant, he gave in to her, without a fight. But they have to be cautious, Lou's crazy brother stalks the couple, and Sean manages to send him back. A very intense movie here. It's great for all the cult followers out there. Recommendable! 4 out of 5 stars
Zeegrade Awful film that deserves at the very least a two rating but is redeemed by the frequently topless Angel Tompkins and her flawless physical features, i.e. breasts. Jay North plays mop-topped Sean Roberts who while not learning the usefulness of a comb spends his summer vacation spying on his gorgeous former teacher who likes to sunbathe topless. When one of his peeping sessions leads to the accidental death of his best friend Lou he becomes relentlessly pursued by, the nuttier than a Planters factory, friend's older brother Ralph, who by the way, happens to live in the abandoned warehouse where the two scamps spy on the nude Tompkins. Did I mention Ralph keeps all of his belongings inside a red coffin? How about the fact that he drives a white hearse? Ralph is also obsessed with the teacher and is played with over-the-top gusto by Anthony James, the only actor worth noting who isn't nude. When a budding affair begins between Sean and the emotionally frustrated Mrs. Diane Marshall it pushes Ralph over the edge. Either that or he wants to kill him because of the hairy wildfire of a mane on top of Sean's head. Sean and Diane are supposed to be neighbors as that is the vehicle used to initiate the relationship yet the address on Sean's home is in 160th block of whatever and Diane's home is in the 120th block of whatever. A forty block difference a neighbor it does not make. (Sorry, I used to be a mailman.) The absurdity of the notion that the beautiful Tompkins would sacrifice her own marriage for the dopey Jay North is too much to believe. This movie might as well be considered science fiction. The love scenes, which basically consist of dry-humping, have all the sexual heat of being encased inside an iceberg. This is one of those movies where all Sean has to do is tell the police the truth and his problems are over but he's too stupid for that. I blame his hair. Never before has a pair of breasts saved a film from a rating it so richly deserves. Just fast forward to the nude scenes and call it a day.
