sneaguv This movie is born out of childish imagination, nonsensical stuff put together in a random order, and childish knowledge about science: the scene with the lighter thrown in the car's tank followed by the explosion is nightmarish: are people on Earth who know that little about chemistry?The creature is hilariously conceived, without the slightest drop of realism. Characters' attitudes and reactions are non-realistic as well. You don't really feel their fear, it's more like an appearance of fear. Their actions are random. The creature appears out of nowhere, disappears in the same manner,being kind of omnipresent. Sorry guys, for me is a no- no.

GL84 Arriving at an Arctic research station, a group of workers and a modeling crew on a photo-shoot encounter a ravenous, genetically- modified polar bear that begins rampaging through the group and forces them to fight it off to get away alive.This here was quite a decent if still enjoyable effort. What really gives this some positives is the absolutely glorious atmosphere here as this one shows off the Arctic location incredibly well as not only the icy cold surroundings and remote, desolate landscape being featured are put to great use. Being that far from civilization and having nothing really working while being in a remote, icy-cold freezing environment with the darkness and eternal crunching snow beneath their feet makes the suspense here quite natural and believable, especially once it really turns on it's side when the beat starts attacking their camp. The early set-ups here, from the attack on the jeep out on the road to the absolutely stellar attack on the group during their photo-shoot where it comes up underneath the ice unseen and takes out the model and their guide as well as the different ambushes along the way as it takes out the different crew-members leading up to the final half which is really where this one gets plenty of enjoyable following that early set-up work. There's so much here to like, from the growing revelation of what's happening with the discovery of all the dead bodies and bringing about the massive assault on the lodge where they're all trapped inside and forced to fight it off in the cramped, closed-off surroundings as it chews its way through the remaining crew until getting the big final showdown in the middle of the woods that ends this on a bloody, brutal bang and really gives this a nice bang to leave on. Along with the strong creature effects here for the creature as it looks convincing enough and isn't CGI, there's some really good parts here that makes this enjoyable enough to hold off the few flaws on display. One of the biggest issues is the fact that the creature here isn't all that featured, barely getting any screen-time at all, either during its attacks or in the early set-up scenes so that it's hard to tell what it is had they not said what it was. The one brief shot of it off in the distance standing over it's kill doesn't give a clear look at it, and nearly all the other attacks are edited to be nearly indistinguishable what it really is as it doesn't get a whole lot of time here with this one focusing on other areas outside of the creature as there's the different groups within the crew-members, the photo-shoot and the interactions with all three here that eats up a lot more time than necessary which affects the somewhat lagging pace on display in the first half here. Otherwise, this one here wasn't all that bad.Rated R: Graphic Violence, Language, Brief Nudity, mild sexual scenes and violence-against-animals.

blackwell4 Do not waste your time. Awful dialog. Awful ( and stupid) storyline. Awful waste of my ( and your) time. Awful bear suit. The plot is reasonable, but they must have hired a fifth grader to write the script. Example: " I need blankets and hot water bottles". Really? This is 2015, no one has hot water bottles. No one even makes them anymore! This really could have been a suspenseful and dramatic movie. Instead, the unrealistic sequences and simplistic dialog were distracting from good photography, good acting, good direction, with good sets, wardrobe and lighting. It looks Ike much. Of the outdoor scenes were shot on location. The location was perfect. The indoor scenes were well set. Advice to exec producers: Next time spend a little more on the writing.

Adam Baehr Wow I just finished watching this movie and it was crafted with excellence by Hank Braxtan and it was quite remarkable in my opinion. I'm a horror fanatic and I have seen a lot of the After Dark Horrorfest Films and so far I have watched Bastard and Lumberjack Man in this new set of the 2015 ADH Films and here is my review for Unnatural. I will start with the story which is about a group of people who are enjoying a nice weekend in a remote Alaskan lodge when an altered Polar Bear starts hunting them down. The premise was straightforward enough but it definitely flipped the script around 180 degrees from the normal way a movie of this nature would have gone which I found to be a breath of fresh air. I will now move onto the acting which I enjoyed thoroughly but the standout of course was James Remar which everyone will know from Dexter. I will now move onto the kills and while there aren't a ton of kills that are shown here there are certainly enough. The dread that is invoked while watching the bear hunt is quite unnerving I must add which is a rare commodity to see now in horror films. The bear that is displayed looks very vicious and not to be trifled with by any means. I'm glad they actually let you get a great look at him and not just the shadow of him. The setting was great and really set the tone for a desolate place where no one is around to help you out when you're in trouble. I will finish by saying that you should check this movie out especially if you love nature versus nurture films. I have no doubt that you will enjoy it.
