hizqeelwilliams How dare you make such a movie? I saw this movie out of my love of the "Classic" Anchorman. But it was disappointing. I have seen worse but no wonder why all these scenes and the plot not forgetting to mention was not a part of the EPIC Anchorman. If Anchorman made you laugh this doesn't even get in the class of "All About Steve". The editing, dialogue, and the one thing that would make it even worse the absolutely ridiculous plot. Watched it for 40 mins and I felt myself Nauseating. The only thing according to me was Will Ferrel that made the movie tolerable for 40 mins. at least.HW
Lawson Anchorman was my favorite Will Ferrell movie before Blades of Glory, so ever since I learned of this DVD "movie" years ago, I had wanted it. However it was unfortunately only available as a bonus disc to the original movie and not readily available on region 1, and it wasn't even released on region 3. Hence I was quite happy to finally buy this (with Anchorman) in Oz.Was it worth the wait? Yes, and no. I hadn't known beforehand that this "movie" was made of various cut extended scenes and deleted scenes and such, and so it's not quite as coherent as a normal movie. Still, there's effort put into the cutting and pasting, and the result is indubitably more fun (and easier) than watching the individual scenes as standalones the way they are typically relegated as in DVD bonus features, which I don't even bother to watch, usually. So yes, I'm quite happy that I got this DVD, but I doubt it would be of any interest to anyone who didn't like (or watch) Anchorman. 6
JohnZoidberg Look, I loved the PROPER Anchorman film, but this was reaaaaallly bad. The kind of bad that makes you wish you could get that time back in your life, the kind of bad that makes you think "what on Earth were they thinking to film this in the first place", the kind of bad that makes you wish you'd taken 50 more minutes when stepping into the kitchen to grab a snack during the film, the kind of bad that makes leprosy look fun, the kind of bad that makes you think you wish you rented a Pauly Shore film instead....seriously, I cannot explain how very bad this was.Having said that....there were some semi-amusing laughs, but they are all so much LESS funny than Anchorman. Sure, they tried to make it entertaining and fun, but the entire subplot that was left out of Anchorman that made it here was genuinely left out for a good reason...it wasn't even a little bit good.Do yourself a favour (or in the USA, a favor), and don't watch this DVD...it will tarnish the good movie that Anchorman is and you don't want to do that.Okay...I'm alright now.
nodpresion I'm not sure why so many people on all sorts of different sites keep claiming this is some sort of hodge-podge thrown together after the "original" this is the original ... it was even spotlighted on entertainment tonight ... yrs ago ... they showed the scene where ron complains about the font during their preview of the film and then interviewed Christina about working with will this movie was screened for test audiences and bombed ... i mean - its in the Voice-over at the beginning of the film ... they tell you right up front what this movie truly is ... the original that bombed ... they then took the bits that worked ... the romance between ron and veronica ... the breakdown of the gang when ron spends more time with veronica ... the "bond" that champ has with ron its a totally separate and original film - and i really think it does a better job of capturing the 70s news vibe ... less silliness - the gang fight - the flute solo - baxter getting punted - those are all very funny ... but got away from what the title claimed to be i know its not fitzcarraldo - but i think there's a better story in this version
