Reviews

Mikelikesnotlikes I watch every zombie flick I can find as long as the review is passable. This one is definitely passable, but nothing special. The film is set in Chile. It is low budget and in a foreign language (Spanish) which helps you forgive some of the sub-par acting as it is amusing when the translations come through a bit twisted. There's nothing more embarrassing than your own country men screwing up their lines and badly portraying their character into the bargain so I wouldn't be as forgiving if this were an American British or Aussie film. I think it would make a very good primer for film students to study and suggest changes to pacing and plot amongst other film-making do's and don't's.In all a good try with some definite skills coming through where budget ($22,000) was overcome by a good Director and Editor.
Dawn Stone (dawnferris) I always read the reviews before I watch any film. Normally if the reviews say it sucks, I don't watch the film. I'm glad I decided to watch this one. When I saw it was shot on a 600 dollar budget (about halfway through the film) I was floored. They did a lot with that 600 bucks if you consider how much everything cost these days. The actors must have been paid very little. From the opening scene I was hooked. It isn't the most action packed, if you want lots of zombie attacks and flesh eating, you had better look elsewhere. But I still found myself on the edge of my seat because I knew they were out there as evidenced by the chilling whoops and howls I heard. The film managed to keep me interested and worried for the teams outcome. Again, it wasn't action packed but it was enough. I watched the subtitled version (thank god, I hate dubbed movies) and I was not bothered by having to read my lines. I enjoyed this film as much as I enjoyed Dead Snow (another far more action packed zombie films I read rather than listened to)It WAS amateurish but it was not trash. The makers took the little they had and made a very passable zombie film. But that's just my opinion.
Philip King Two reviews as i type this so far, one says trash the other says better then expected and i 100% agree with the latter. After seeing the budget which seems crazy low i wasn't expecting a lot, then the thrilling opening scene and the gun fire effects as someone else also mentioned before caught my attention straight away. The movie kinda stalls part way through with bickering amongst the soldiers being the main story then but it was still very entertaining and one of the better zombie/infected movies.I would like to see a prequel and/or a sequel to this as i think they could have gone deeper into the story and studied the origins of the outbreak in more detail. So over all this was a nice surprise just when i thought i had seen all of the best Zombie/Infected movies.
Claudio Carvalho In 2006, people somehow is infected turning into zombies in a country (Chile?) and the area is evacuated; then it is isolated and the zombies and a few survivors are sealed off in this no man's land Fifteen years later, a group of mercenaries led by Colonel Rainoff (Cristian Ramos) are assigned to protect the scientists Elisa (Pamela Rojas) and Cornellius (Christopher Offermann) that will research the area in a journey of horror, death and betrayal."Zombie Dawn" is an awful amateurish trash. The story, screenplay and narrative are garbage with worthless and unpleasant characters that betray each other. The music score is annoying. I do not believe that I have spent 83 minutes of my life watching to this trash. My vote is one (awful).Title (Brazil): "Amanhecer Zumbi" ("Zombie Dawn")
