jasorngcntypnk i have about 75 zombie dvds and this is in the top 5 worst zombie films i have ever seen. as bad as it was if they went for a campy comedy then maybe it would have been enjoyable. this movie was made to capitalize on the zombie craze started by the walking dead but fell short of being good. to me this movie seems like it was made by people that had no love for zombie movies. it came across as "hey we need to make a movie. well zombie movies seem popular right now. any one one ever watch one? no. well i'm sure we can make one over the weekend" i don't see how any one approved this movie for release other then it was going on the syfi channel. if you like zombie movies, you won't like it. but if you like syfy films then maybe you can sit through this. i'm sure the writers, producers, directors and actors didn't like this film either. this was a I need a paycheck bad kind of film for the actors.
elettrozero The usual big productions zombie films are nowadays cliché: you immediately will know who'll survive and who'll die. Films like Zombie Night, instead, are unpredictable, they really give you the thrill of - is him/her going to make it?. Generally speaking, unless there's (much)humor in it, the quality of small budget zombie films is acceptable, other ways the film becomes a Z movie (generally zombie films are already B movies). This film is thrilling, creepy and moving; the cast is (really) good, the peace is very good, the photography is essentialand it's a good thing for a change. In addiction many zombie clichés are avoided giving the story more creditability. I really enjoyed the time watching this film and I highly recommend it.
LasKeepsItReal I watched Zombie Night recently and i must say it was better than i expected. After hearing about the film originally being shown on the SyFy channel i wanted to see it being a fan of some of the older Zombie films and because i wanted to see what Daryl Hannah's performance would turn out.Minor spoilers ahead!Long story cut short. The action in the film starts almost immediately when a teenage girl, her friend and her father encounter zombies at a cemetery, what follows from there is a test of survival between two families and several other people wanting to find a way out without being infected or killed until daylight. Most viewers are going to be rooting for or perhaps inquisitive as to the outcome of Daryl Hannah's character. All i will say is that she does face a few dilemmas throughout the film which climax in her personality changing quite rapidly, her character Birdy who stood out the most for me along with her friend Janice who had a memorable final scene! The special effects were alright too although could have been more graphic at times!Overall i would give this film 6 out of 10!
gavin6942 Zombies come out at night and two families must survive until morning.By now, I think we all know to expect bad things from the SyFy Channel and the movies they show. And if you are familiar with the Asylum, who makes these movies, you know that they spare every expense in order to pump out low-grade, low-budget fluff. Some of it is entertaining (I confess), but none of it has ever been good.Somehow they managed to get some real actors on board for this one. Not just one washed up actor (I am looking at you, Eric Roberts) but some decent names -- Anthony Michael Hall and Daryl Hannah. Alan Ruck may not have the name recognition, but everyone recognizes him from "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" or "Spin City".The most unfortunate thing is that the director is John Gulager, who is a legitimately talented man -- "Feast" was incredible, and I absolutely loved "Piranha 3DD". Somehow not even he could save this picture... how did they all get roped into working for the Asylum?
