zardoz-13 An assassin searches for redemption in London after he accidentally kills a pregnant woman in "Instant Death" director Ara Paiaya's gutsy actioneer "Skin Traffik" with martial artist Gary Daniels supported by a solid cast of veterans, including Daryl Hannah, Michael Madsen, Mickey Rourke, Jeff Fahey, and Eric Roberts. This slickly-made, contemporary action thriller qualifies as standard-issue stuff, but Paiaya has a knack for choreographing exciting close-quarter combat scenes with lots of gratuitous gunfire. Gary Daniels is solidly cast as Bradley, and he kicks ass and shoots bad guys galore. Mind you, the villains are a vicious lot, but Bradley also has to worry about a tough cop, Detective Brooks (Jerry Anderson of "Instant Death"), who is on his trail. After he kills the pregnant girl by accident, Bradley decides to help a couple of prostitutes from their abusive pimps. This madness escalates in Adam Davidson's complicated, globe-trotting screenplay when Bradley learns that the prostitutes are innocent girls sold into modern-day white slavery rings. A well-tailored Eric Roberts plays the chief villain with his usual charismatic flair. There are few surprises in this hard-knuckled melodrama, but Paiaya has delivered a predictable but entertaining shoot'em up with an ending yearning for a sequel. At the rate that he is going Ara Paiaya could turn into a top-flight helmer. Incidentally, he turns up in a peripheral role as a henchman who dies a particularly nasty death.
lorirocha Skin Traffik's action is fast paced and very slick. Just like the Directing, camera-work, editing and choreography, very graceful indeed. This is a refreshing change to the current number of low-rent genre exercises over the last several years. This picture provides a great alternative to Hollywood Blockbuster nonsense. Well Directed this film takes you into the world of human trafficking and adds a burst of action and martial arts into the mix. A cross between Taken and Kiss of The Dragon this highly entertains and even has moments of comedy which adds to the overall enjoyment. The film is even setup for a sequel and hopefully we will be seeing it soon. Action packed direct to video movie heaven.
CowieT1970 A fun action movie that doesn't break new ground. A lot of movies with ultra cool dudes don't do very well in making you believe that the main character has the skills but not this movie. This movie sets up the rest of the movie perfectly and, even though the story is about as run of the mill as it gets, it was still a very fun movie to watch. With a cast of characters perfect for this ultra 80's / 90's action style extravaganza. We meet the character Bradley a stoic – at times emotionless – demeanour, and with homages to films from action's golden age. Skin Traffik not only becomes a movie with huge connections to three previous decades due to the star studded cast. It becomes one of the best independent action films of 2015.
hodges-15199 The promo looked good. In the first 10 minutes i knew i wasted my money. Acting bad, filming bad, plot worse. Its just compounded all together. I don't like to say it, but an Adam Sandler movie is better. Please trust me and move on in your search for a good action movie to watch. As with previous reviews, the director wears too many hats. The lead could be reading his lines from someone yelling to him off side. Action actually not that bad, its the shot angles and editing that i found disjointed. All, the other stars probably saw this as a quick buck. It is painful to see these quality actor go through the motions. It all looks rushed as if to get in to DVD release asap.I feel bad for me and any other who see the preview, as that was all you need to see to not enjoy what little there is.
