Almost Perfect is an American situation comedy that aired on the CBS television network from September 17, 1995 until October 30, 1996. The series focused on the professional life of the female executive producer of a television cop show, her witty, zany staff which doubled as her family, and initially, how she balanced her high-powered role with that of her newfound romance with a busy assistant D.A. The series was created by Ken Levine, David Isaacs and Robin Schiff, and produced by Levine & Isaacs Productions and Robin Schiff Productions, in association with Paramount Television. Levine and Isaacs were previously known for their work as writers and producers on the long-running Paramount-produced Cheers, as well as on its Paramount stablemate Wings. Like the latter shows, Almost Perfect featured a tight-knit ensemble aspect between the cast, which in this case was formed by the production staff of the fictional cop show. CBS canceled the series just four episodes into its second season. Six leftover episodes aired on Lifetime in December 1997, followed by reruns of the entire series surfacing on USA Network's weekday morning lineup between 1998 and 2001.

Reviews

goleafs84 I enjoyed this show in the first season. It was funny and entertaining. Nancy Travis and Kevin Kliner were great together. Their chemistry together was great, and after the first season was over, I was looking forward to the second season. Unfortunately, it looks like they tinkered around with the show and made some changes (ie: they got rid of Kevin Kliner). That was a shame because once he left the show, it changed and not for the better. It lost it's "magic". I felt like there was a huge hole present and it just became another "ho-hum" show. Needless to say, it didn't take very long, even though I tried to give the second season a chance, I grabbed the remote and was looking for something else to watch.Very disappointing in the end.
misslu This show was very funny in its first season, but then they got rid of Kevin Kilner and the show was just another run of the mill bad sitcom. The talent that remained was still very good, and they had a good chemistry, but the writing was far from inspired.
Jetwardy This was one of the best shows I've ever seen. Nancy Travis is wonderful. The entire premise was fresh and clever. It was an ensemble cast that was "Almost Perfect". With so much trash getting air time and so many shows being picked up in syndication it is hard to accept this show being skipped over.
Rose-35 I liked this show. I thought it was very funny. The entire cast was great but I esp. liked Nancy Travis and Kevin Kilner. Very cute together. It was ashame to see it cancelled so soon but I guess all shows can't stay on long.
