timeteenseva We love this show cant wait for season 3, its a thing now we get ready all day saying "almost time" n get all excited for it :D
Aaron Redis Let's get one thing out of the way: "American Housewife" certainly isn't the best comedy out there, especially when compared to other ABC comedies. That said, it isn't bad. It's just . . . ok! It makes me laugh, which is what I set out to do when I watch a show like this. What I do like is how it keeps it real, which is funny to see! It's fun and quirky but the characters also feel like ordinary people you'll see and encounter in day-to-day life. The basic storyline alone is relatable, and if that's what people are looking for, I don't think they'll be disappointed here. The funny thing is, actually, it's normal people trying to assimilate in a richer, higher class, which can make the situation even more relatable and enjoyable for middle-class people, which will most likely be those who are watching this . . . like me! They stumble their way through the community, and it's quite fun to see what comes of it -- the funny remarks about those who are richer and, as what will be seen as here, maybe even "snobby."The thing is, though, when compared to other comedies out there, something is just missing here. I'm not sure what the missing puzzle exactly is, but it's something that's much easier for other shows. Perhaps it's because this story has been done before and maybe even done better. But that's okay. The bigger picture: the show works! It makes me laugh. All in all, it's quirky, it's relatable, it's funny. It does the trick. I give "American Housewife" a 7.3/10.
danajoy-09210 I live in Istanbul and it plays here on Digiturk, so I occasionally watch it when there is absolutely nothing else on. I kept hoping that it would get better and the mother would evolve, but it never happens. I cringe when I think about Turkish people watching this show and thinking this is the typical American mother because she most certainly is not. Brash, hateful, mean spirited, vengeful......I could go on and on. She lacks any kind of compassion or understanding and comes across as narcissistic and self- deprecating. She is constantly yelling at her children and thinks she is teaching them worthy life lessons by showing very little understanding when dealing with them. She seems to think a tough attitude will instill positive life lessons. Almost everything she does for her family, she does with the attitude that everyone should be grateful. Her husband tolerates her bad attitude without ever showing any irritation. Can you say wimp or is he simply a saint? Either way, it's very annoying. The children keep this show from being a total failure and it is much easier to relate to them. Otherwise, this show would be a total flop. I'm surprised it has lasted beyond the first few episodes. Nothing funny about this mean mommy.
erikarowell Finally a show I can relate to as a mom and wife! Love it all. I hope they continue the show so a long long time. Katy is hilarious and so real! I like how it the family members are so different in the way they think and have a variety of attitudes toward things. Many family's are like that ... I can relate.
