Reviews

cookyman11 This show is about 10 single 30-somethings in a bar, most of whom are trying to get laid. If you've ever been there, newly single, male or female, in tune to the bar scene, you will love this show. IF you take yourself too seriously, have grown up, are offended by gender stereotypes, go ahead and pass. For those that watch it, you will find a very funny, well written, enjoyable show. This almost plays out like a 4 hour long romantic comedy that guys will laugh their you know whats off at. The characters are very well written and likable, the story is great without getting too deep. The story didn't get intense until about the last 15 minutes of the series, and proper closure to the night was given. Other than that, it was pure comedy and entertainment as you get attached to the characters and their efforts for love.Out of the 10 characters, all 10 were very likable long term and well written. Rooting for the most clueless guy in the bar to land the female maneater, or the obnoxious redhead trying all night to get laid and failing, was extremely entertaining. The characters you hated were supporting cast and written into that role. The series played out like an FX comedy, not something on ABC. I couldn't really see a second season though and am not surprised it ended/was cancelled, unless they brought on 10 new people. However, this was one of the most surprising shows i've ever watched, and i'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good time who can take a joke.
Adam Persson I would have given this series a 9,4 out of 10 because of the smart and enjoying comedy. We all have these friends or we are like these people so we recognize things about ourselves in them. This is a series about people trying to get laid in a bar. They all use different methods and all have different personalities but the bottom line is to get laid before last-call. So if we go through the men, the series has one guy who doesn't know anything about women, one who thinks he knows everything, one who truly believes you can find "the one" (and he has many times...), one hot bartender who simply lives without thinking because there's no need and one rich guy who lost most of his money and is now doing online dating. They all choose a girl fairly quickly but no one is sure since they seem to find a connection with other people as well. So some guys seem to get more than one girl and some seem to get none and we'll see who ends up with who.(didn't feel like going through the girls since they are too complicated)
knowlesy82 Alright let's begin with the fact that most of the reviews seem to be pretty negative for this show. I don't quite understand why... If I could compare this show to anything I would say it's like a sitcom dedicated to Barney in 'How I met your mother'People are quite capable of reading what the show is about so if you don't think it's for you then fine don't watch it but I personally enjoy seeing the interactions between people. The character development and how they meet and interact with each other is quite enjoyable to watch.I understand that it probably wouldn't sell to an older audience but I believe that it's believable to an extent and quite humorous.
Kiran G Though this seems like a shallow comedy at first viewing, eventually you will realize that this has more heart and better writing than HIMYM. HIMYM always depended on shallow emotions, goofy situations etc, but mixology is driven solely by intelligent, witty interaction between the protagonists. Even though the male trio does have something similar to the "bro code", it never becomes bizarre and irritating. The scenes are short and sweet and each episode is just short enough to convince you that all this is happening in one night. So its well edited. The series is well casted and so far everyone has done justice to their roles.
