savannahy-22419 This show is when I really started to notice that The Disney Channel was dead. I don't have much to say because I don't feel like wasting my time ranting about how horrible this show is. Rowan Blanchard in the show is absolutely insufferable, annoying, a complete airhead, and just overall unlikeable. Not to mention the absolutely atrocious acting in the show. So glad it was canceled.
unguarded_heart Where to start...I did grow up with the original show, so I was excited for this show to continue the story but with a fresh, new angle and outlook. What we got was stale Disney stereotypical plots, acting and attempt to cash in on the premise of it being a continuity of Boy Meets World. Disney always seems to be over the top with its preachiness and unrealistic takes on life. While I don't think the actors are bad, I do think their acting was stilted due to the "Disneyfication" (it's a new word, just go with it) of the series. The only time I found it funny was when the original cast of Boy Meets World was on, especially Eric. Will Friedle still owns it. As pointed out before, the depth of the original show is missing because of the typical Disney standards (sugary sweet and with rose colored glasses). Even Cory and Topanga have lost their charm and don't have the same appeal they once had. Cory tries too hard to be Mr Feeny, but only comes across as preachy. Topanga has virtually disappeared and Riley and Maya don't have the chemistry of Cory and Shawn. The only time I saw any chemistry was when the original cast came back. This show tries too hard and is very unrealistic. Too much Disney and not enough heart and depth that made the original so great. I think the cast is good, but they lack any chemistry. To quote the obnoxious attempted catch phrase of Riley and Maya "Stop it"...seriously, what is that?
Alex Fisher This garbage is the worse thing I have ever laid my eyes on. The only reason why this show doesn't have a 1 is because it at least made an attempt at addressing serious issues, and I feel like I should at least give it something. First off, the acting. It's over dramatic, unrealistic, way too forced and super cringy. The acting alone makes my brain melt. Next up, the writing. Every single person who contributed to this show's script are a disgrace to writers everywhere. The characters are stereotypical, horrifyingly annoying, unlikable and bland. The episodes' plots are unoriginal, stupid and predictable. It's goal is to teach serious lessons while still be funny. Guess what? Some morals are bad and the jokes are bland. Now, let's try going into more detail about some characters. Riley. She could have ended up being an interesting character, but falls flat. She is supposed to be a very cheerful, innocent preppy person, but comes off as irritating and cringy rather than likable and cute. Aside from her weird quirk, she has no basis to her personality. Yes, she's quirky, but this point has been made multiple times; way too much energy was put into this single trait. Maya. Riley's best friend. A tough "bad girl" who doesn't have the greatest past (her father leaving). These are the only things I've noted about her character. No complexity. Farkle. What's with this guy? An "atheist" who was intended to be a unique character, but fails to catch interest. The rest, like these three, have no personality either. I won't even get into that.
snperera When I first saw that Boy Meets World was having a sequel, I was so excited! My childhood was coming back I thought. Then when I saw that it was going to be on the Disney Channel I got a little worried cause Boy Meets World talked about real life issues that can't be discussed on the Disney Channel. But I watched all 3 seasons of it and I love it. Sure some of the comedy is awkward and it doesn't make sense and it is slow and boring at times but overall this show has heart, has great characters, great messages, and I hope it gets picked up by a different network.
