mcnewbe My 23-month-old twin girls absolutely adore this show and truly watch it. We first discovered the show when they were almost a year old and they were entranced by it even then. It keeps their attention unlike other shows. They have to dance, tap their feet and clap their hands with the introductory song each time and say goodbye to Jack, Mary & Mel at the end of each episode. The show is wonderfully produced with very few reminders that it's puppets you are watching. They are so masterfully coordinated with the music and each other that it's easy for adults to enjoy the show, too. The music is fun and we've even purchased CDs to take with us on the road. We're waiting on pins and needles for a DVD, merchandise like dolls and such, and new episodes!!!!!!
Catherine_Grace_Zeh Wow! This is a really cute, fun, entertaining, and educational show. I said that because I watch this on Noggin with my 16-month-old nephew from time to time. It's hard to say which show on Noggin is the best. Still it's really cute, fun, entertaining, and educational. The music is really fun to move and sing along to as well. Before I wrap this up, I'd like to say that the people at Noggin really know how to reach a toddler's developing mind. Now, in conclusion, if you have children, nieces, or nephews, I strongly recommend this really cute, fun, entertaining, and educational show. I guarantee you that they will enjoy it.
rleggett-1 My son is 16 mo. and loves Jack's Big Music Show. The characters are funny, and the music is great. There are many special guests including Buddy Guy. After about the 100th time we know all the quirky things to say along with the show especially the Schwartsman Quartet. "Mel the dog just says ....." It's wholesome and somewhat educational. The songs are about counting, self esteem, music appreciation, etc. And jack And marry model social skills such as politeness and sharing. Even though it is kids music you'll find yourself singing the songs to yourself in the car. I only wish there were more products such as DVDs and CDs to buy. Some clothes would be cool too.
boisenewbie I am in my 30's, but I am not embarrassed to admit that I really enjoy watching the occasional "children's show". (Especially now that I am a proud aunt of a very smart toddler) Jack's Big Music Show is one of the best children's shows I have seen!! It is very entertaining and the music is great. I love how it mixes segments of music videos into the show.(Some of the songs stay with you for days! I haven't been able to get "Under a Shady Tree" out of my head for a week now ... but that isn't such a bad thing!) I also really enjoy some of the characters that I have seen so far on the show. Like the LITTLE Bad Wolf (BIG Bad's baby brother) and who can not smile over the Schwartzman Cortet!!Hardcore children's show fans may recognize the voices. The voice of Jack is also the voice of Baby Bear on Sesame Street and Mary was the voice of Julie and Sizzle the Cat on Puzzle Place. (I had to come on to IMDb to find that out because it was driving me crazy! The voices were so familiar!!) If you are a Muppet Fan and a music lover, you just might enjoy this show ... no matter how old you are. BUT I Guarantee THE CHILDREN WILL LOVE IT!!!I am editing this comment because since I have submitted it, I have read some things about this show that I want to address:Although I made the comment that adults will love this show, we have to remember that THIS SHOW IS INTENDED FOR PRESCHOOLERS. I have read comments that go as far as complaining about the music on the show saying, "The music is frenetic and emphasizes rhythm over tune and lyricism" ... Does this person even KNOW a preschooler??!! When is the last time you heard your 3 year old comment about a song's lyrics? (Unbelievable!)My opinion is my opinion and I can't convince anyone to like something they don't - but it is just not fair to compare a show for children to that of adults. But I happen to know that I am not the ONLY adult who feels like a good children's show is worth it's weight in gold ... This show is really good!!
