Reviews

OllieSuave-007 This TV show didn't last very long and I've only watched a few episodes. But, from what I remember, it wasn't a bad show. Got a few laughs out of it, even though the episodes' pacing was fairly slow. It was nice seeing Betty White in a sit-com again, after coming off of "The Golden Girls." Grade B-
caseyo-1 I enjoyed this short lived TV series. I believe this show could have had better success if it were shown regularly. However where I live it was almost never on when the TVGUIDE said it would be. It would be canceled for some (special), or often just moved to another night. Then when you tuned in that night, it would not be on, or it would be on an hour later or earlier. How could they expect a show to catch on if no one could ever see it? Luckily,. I "Stayed Tuned" every night just to make sure I taped each episode. All of the acting was very good, and I thought that having Marie Osmond with Betty White was a nice contrast in characters. However I did not think that Ashley Johnson was the best choice for the daughter of Julia. I would love to see this Series on DVD,.. But if you are an Osmond Fan, You already know how hard it is to get anything with an Osmond in it............ Thanks for reading my rambles......
budikavlan This show was a classic example of "not quite." A sitcom which concerned the relationships between 3 generations of women, it wasn't quite funny enough, didn't attract quite enough attention, and didn't quite survive through its original 13 episode order from ABC. Marie Osmond played a young single mother living and running a small coffee shop with her mother, played by Betty White. Ashley Williams played Marie's precocious (what else?) daughter. The cast was actually pretty good (yes, including Marie); I especially liked Amy Hill as a friend of the grandmother. She has played a surprising variety of characters on shows like "All American Girl" as Margaret Cho's grandmother (a role much older than the actress), "The Naked Truth" as an eccentric photographer, and "The Hughleys" as Pat Morita's lesbian daughter. Even if "Maybe This Time" had been good enough to succeed, it was likely doomed to cancellation anyway as it ran on ABC Saturday night in what has been a ratings graveyard for decades.
