Reviews

marco-30-384328 I think it is a big loss to cancel this show so soon. It really had the chance to become an epic mystery-series like Lost but it failed. In my opinion the pilot was to weak. I found nothing exciting in the first one or two episodes and I only started to like the show after episode 3. The poor jokes of Cass at the beginning and some stupid dialogs ruined the first episodes. It got better throughout the series, but I think its destiny had already been sealed at the time the show got better. I was missing the typical "Superhero-Main-character" that "Daniel Mays" did not manage to bring into the show. He would have been a great side-character next to a (missing) Hero of the show. Cunningham as done a great job and Lucas, the "bad" guy has contributed well to the series. If you liked "Terra Nova" or "Lost", you will definitely like this show as well.
Stephen Frost I had high hopes that 'Outcasts' would follow the lead set by the Dr Who revival and show that British scriptwriters and producers had learnt that science-fiction a la Blakes Seven is not good enough for the twenty first century. Alas my hopes have been dashed. The special effects and sets are passable, and worthy of some credit, but the scriptwriting is puerile, the characters one-dimensional stereotypes and the plot-lines are worthy of a budget soap-opera such as Holby City. The acting (if that is the word) reflects the inadequacies of the script and gives meaning to the word wooden. The music deserves better and at times, thankfully, is loud enough to drown out the dialogues.
grammajah I am glad to here that season two is in the works. Can't wait to see what happens next. Julia Hansen avid science fiction fan! We Americans are quite diverse in what we like to watch. I like the complexity of the relationships and the secrets that are coming out of the original few that were sent, as well as the intrigue of the others who were sent in the distant past. Why were more sent if those were killed off, so many questions. I've seen the earth moving as if something were being birthed from underneath, what's that? Why are the copies able to stay, what is so different about them, why are they having babies so fast? I think having an opposing force like Jim just stirs things up a little.
lexcooper-236-785503 The absolute only problems with this show are the lack of quality definition and the casting in part...The truth of it is that Outcasts will most definitely join the likes of Star-Trek: The Next Generation and Battlestar Galactica (2004) as one of the more intriguing science fiction shows ever made. The writing and casting are nearly the absolute best while showing of signs of improvement as anyone could see at the end of season one. However, the seasons run shorter than I would like. I would love to see at least 15 episodes per season but this show only had eight for season one. When the show starts out it gains the audience attention right away with dramatic villainy and wonderful action. Developing through the season the show pays good attention to the development of the characters in a manner similar to the writing behind BSG 2004. And as with BSG and any other great drama it leaves you with an imminent attack and multiple facets to a great cliffhanger. I cannot wait to see what happens in Season Two next year. May this show get signed up for the development of at least four or five seasons if not more.
