Reviews

kaveetm All in the title but they're making me fill this with more text just so I can submit the review. The illustration and style brings me back to when I was a child and reminds me of "The Tailor of Gloucester" (pronounced glo-ster).
Juliana Penello If you like cartoons, this is a must-watch. It's incredibly meaningful and one of the most beautiful animations I've ever seen in my entire life. Gravity Falls used to be my favorite cartoon, but this BEATS it. I strongly believe this is made for adults because of it's deep messages. Just WOW!
henrygburn Well, this was a charming surprise. This show haunted me and charmed me at the same time, it also left me with a lot of conflicting emotions and thoughts. Let's start with the seating. Let's just say that if I was going to rate this show only in seating I would start by giving it a 12/10. The atmosphere of this miniseries is incredible, like a mix of fairy tale, old cartoons from the 30ies and a dreary tone as the autumn turns to winter and the protagonist encounter different creepy settings. The music in this show is also amazing, featuring a soundtrack that is cheerful and dreary. Finally the characters. They are not the strong point of the series but I enjoyed the interactions between all the inhabitants of the unknown (the woodsman and the beast) even thou I think the two brothers where a bit lacking, specially Greg. All and all, if you haven't watched this fine series you are not spending your time correctly.
kirkir-17920 When I finished this miniseries, I was amazed by its sophistication and pure genius. With spectacular, spooky and old-timey animation, Over the Garden Wall provides everyone with a bit of appreciation for the effort obviously put into this world. The characters were also superb. I loved how they had realistic conversations which didn't always have a need to keep the plot moving at every second. Basically, this is the story of two boys who find themselves in a Limbo-like forest. They spend the whole miniseries encountering interesting and old-fashioned characters, while struggling with the fact that they may never escape the forest. I feel that every character represents a different view of the world. Wirt is sort of neutral about the world; his mental stability depends on his surroundings. Beatrice provides a negative view of the world. She openly states that she views the world as a depressing place, always maintaining a negative attitude. Yet, Beatrice grows to be a better person (or bluebird) over the course of the series. Greg is probably my favourite character. Some people probably think that his positive attitude is just due to his ignorance, but I think otherwise. Greg tries to keep a positive attitude regarding the journey through the woods, and is always a relief from the darkness that is the rest of the series. In conclusion, Over the Garden Wall is a CN masterpiece, with an engaging story, lovable characters and wonderful animation. If anyone is looking for something spectacular that can engage both children and adults, watch Over the Garden Wall.
