rastogidipali II dont think this really classifies as a "crime thriller". There's too much romance, too much of relationship-build-up. The actual investigations are just touched upon. And the British police come across as a bunch of buffoons. All the time the head (I forget his name) is saying "we've got to find them" and the three just take off. And who actually finds "them" one doesnt know! Bobby is moping all the time, Nina does nothing, the third chap is useless too. WHAT exactly is the police doing? I mean, they don't even keep guns? Each time they come across a criminal, he escapes! This is really hilarious. I watched all the episodes in 2 binges but had to forward some of the mushy stuff. Not good.
Steven Moore Watched this recently and was a bit disappointed. The writer or perhaps the director seemed to be in a muddle. There were some good sections, Germany some of the police investigations but then it diverted into soap opera world. This must be one of the worse police sections in the world. Nina intentionally annoying, I hope, would not last a day on a real police force and as for Bobby he should have been on sick leave a year ago. Germany was good but when Nina came on I was almost throwing the remote at the tv. Worth a watch but be prepared to be frustrated.
swenja_t The description on Netflix seemed promising, as well as the actors and that it's a British Netflix production. But this series was extremely disappointing. What was the biggest let down was the portrayal of women, especially Nina - the main character. She felt more like a woman out of the 50s. Her irrational behavior when it comes to her ex and men in general was extremely cringeworthy and hard to watch. Her jealous behavior when another woman showed the slightest interest in her new lover Alec was extreme and totally exaggerated. She was portrayed as an irrational, jealous woman that only feels like a woman once she finds out she's pregnant.Another let down was the portrayal of drugs that are supposed to help people with anxiety and other mental disorders. I get that it was part of the whole storyline, to bring it forward but I'd wish they would have shown how much those drugs can also help people and make life easier for them. It's a pity this series was such a letdown as the storyline in general and the murder case were great and had so much potential.
kingofspaders Just ignore the bad reviews some gave. They're probably from actors and writers turned down by the series. Every show has a couple characters you get to know and like. What if one show had 5-10 interesting people all with their own strengths, stories and weaknesses? You would find it completely addicting and realize how unsatisfying "action only" series are. British series tend to develop their characters well and this is no different. You think you know a character, then suddenly you find out more about them that changes everything. Surprise after surprise unfolds and you find yourself trying to knock out the whole 8 episodes in a binge. I highly recommend this series.
