cathylr As I like history, I started watching the first images. Netflix do warns about hard talk, blood and sex but we all know that these times were not necessarily the quietest. While the opening is on a battle where a lot of blood (hard to say how many litres per second) with no dialogue, I was curious about the critics left here. My overall impression is that we are in a generation that wants to break the ´taboos´ of violence, sexs and corruption, which obviously exists, but are not as mainstream as so many shows seems to want to suggest. I just switched to another programme that has a dark sense of humor but at least, is about humor. I put ´0´ as rate as I simply cannot rate it...
foster_fl History records Caeser's assassination on March 15th, 44 B.C. and the show begins with the title page March 15th before leading to his murder. Once the deed is done the narrator proclaims that on the 14th of March, 44 B.C., Julius Caeser is stabbed 23 times. Huh? Did I hear that correctly?
psychotico Was cleopatra presented to caesar in a rug? or did she save his life from Ptolemy? what's going on? inaccuracies? is this a documentary or a historical fiction series?
orr-21168 I watch a lot of TV and have both Netflix and Amazon prime. I coulld not get past 20 minutes of episode 1. I may have liked it if I was a history teacher or historian. I believe Netflix has so much money they just keep turning out shows because they can. It would be nice if they just spent more time and money on quality over quantity. This Roman Empire is a big boring swing and a miss.
