amanuensis-67801 The first episode or two I was really intrigued, but as it began to be revealed that every. single. character. (even the minor ones) had a "dark secret" and the series was going to show you every. single. one, it just got unbelievable. More than once, the way characters reacted to big reveals felt unrealistic and forced for plot reasons. And I never bought the reason the gate around the community had been constructed in the first place. I finished watching but there was more than a little eye rolling in the last episode.
zocress This series gets you gripped by the mystery by the very first episode and the journey is great. Revealing just enough to stay on your toes and using some proper red harrings that doesn't make you feel cheated. The problem for me comes in the last two episodes, where the mystery is solved. The main bad guy is way too obvious and the plot twist is seen from a mile away. I was entertained, but not impressed with the end.
mr-troisi Ok, if there are not enough or too many Michael C. Hall haters on here, I want to talk about the story arc. This show feels like it could have written well and fine in a scaled-down, 2 part miniseries, because after episode 7 or 8 I was snoring. It was very engaging for the first two episodes, and after that it got so dull that I'm on my third try just trying to get to the finale. I hate the fact that the creator brought Michale C. Hall and his cronies to try to stretch a short film into a series. If this was a ~90 min thrill ride, cut BETTER (so many slow and boring scenes), and fleshed the main players out better, I'd say 9/10. That said, they pitched this as an eight-part, slowwwwww miniseries that went from cool to hot in the uptake, but then a changeup outside that no one's gonna swing for. Beyond that, I think all of the characters are great. If you're a fan of Mike C. Watch it. But I think who really shines through all of this is his good friend, (No name, no spoilers) who takes up all of the screen. Whenever he's back, I thought, Yay! He's back... But how's he gonna help solve crime.Boring murder mystery. I was psyched for this, but kinda let down. But if you love getting roped into a Netflix Series, and are up at 2am just trying to stomach the last episode. this one's for you...7/10
mrryanscott-15530 This show is OK but it's a bit much in the end. Some of the acting work isn't quite top notch and there's so many twists, on top of twists on top of other twists, so they are not all expected which I like but at a point it's all just a bit too much and too contrived. I will try it again though if it comes back.
