With all the tripe and spin surrounding Game of thrones showing up close and graphic male genitalia but no female genitalia. (as they are all either behind merkins or have been CGI altered to take away detail) It's nice to see a program I can watch with the wife that shows neither. Story is OK and acting is also for this type of production. We don't need to see penises and vulvas to watch a late night erotic program. Well done to the program makers. But a word of warning: - If you are going to show a penis , make sure you show a vulva. That doesn't mean a merkin or a labia patch it means a vulva! #nudityequality More and more men and women are getting very tired of all the inequalities. There is nothing wrong or dirty with female genitalia. Hollywood - lose the taboo.

Some people are visual. Others are auditory. Elliot's voice hooked me & Ashley's story line resonates with me & so many I know. Justin & Ashlynn are the reason I'm watching. I cringe at 50 Shades comparisons, as there are so many better & more realistic BDSM books out there! Is "Submission" lighter on the spectrum? So far, yes, as there is only so much the show can do in half an hour (should be an hour) and not scare off non-lifestyle folks or be straight up porn. I'm all for anything that brings BDSM to the masses! I hope as the show progresses, it will incorporate more teaching moments as too many people don't understand the protocols of what is going on. Some just want to watch kink to try it at home, which is fine (welcome to the dark side). But my pet peeve is naive comments that show the person really doesn't understand BDSM. For example: Dylan's collar disappeared after she was released. Some pets wear collars simply to wear collars (puppy play), but in a true D/s relationship, a collar represents: commitment, ownership, love, loyalty, acceptance & responsibility. Those not in the community just think it is jewelry or an accessory. It is akin to a wedding ring and more meaningful to some. A sub will feel naked without a collar, and her whole world shatters when uncollared. I felt it in the shower scene; even though I don't like Dylan's bratty role, my heart broke for her. I would have liked to see Elliot/Ashely address hard & soft limits along with a safe word, but at least they are keeping open communication. I liked the roommate's triad transition; unicorns, paramours, metamours & play parties often confuse folks so it is good to help folks open up and understand poly scenarios. I also hope the show highlights Switches/Domme's as they are highly underrepresented in my opinion. If safe, sane & consent is given, anything goes. Hard limits are to be respected, but always keep an open mind. You just might enjoy that obsidian desire that was once unspoken. Not your cup of tea, keep channel surfing. I'm looking forward to more tricks up Elliot's sleeve. (Seriously, suit porn is my weakness!)

Not sure why it's taken so long to get a show on the air that includes BDSM. I guess the popularity of Fifty Shades of Grey really proved that there is an audience for this topic. Submission is a decent show, it certainly keeps me coming back for more. I'm craving to see more of the Dominant/submissive dynamic and the show seems to be going in that direction. The first episode was slow, but the show gets increasingly better as the series goes on. I like the fact that there's a solid story-line for this late night show. Too bad there's nothing out there on dominant women... I would find that infinitely more interesting.

Here is a series, presented by Showtime, named "Submission." If you watched "Billions" this season, you know that they already have toyed with B&D/S&M. Then I saw that the name of one of the creators was Jacky St. James and I suspected the direction we were going. Still, I did not expect to encounter the terrible acting and silly, flat dialog that always accompanies porn, but there it was, in every scene. Yikes! However, following the wild success of the "Shades of Grey" series, and the release of the first movie installment, more than a year ago, someone was going to attempt to fill the void that nature abhors. At this point, 41% of the 29 people who rated this episode gave it a 10. A 10??? There you go! This is softer than hard-core porn, and harder than soft-core porn. What I do appreciate, as a woman, is that the first episode focused on female pleasure rather than the typical, endless pounding of most male-oriented porn that I have seen. There are plenty of exposed female parts, but no male parts, so far. I always find this interesting. It is supposed to be a tale of sexual awakening. Are they trying to awaken men to the fact that women are not enjoying having their heads slammed into the headboard? If so, awesome! Still, I just think that with their budget and access to actors and directors, they could have produced something really great. Instead, they decided to make the series appear low budget and vapid. I love that they tried but still, I know they can do better. Fingers crossed.
