Reviews

ebada_shawky Dramatically speaking, it's very good. I liked the acting a lot and the buildup. Normally I would give it a rating of 10, except for the portrayal of the people outside the post. They are portrayed as terrorists hated and feared by the locals, locals who would do anything to help the British occupying force. Really not very logical for any country during any period of history
raodonald No Hollywood fakery, no inflated characterizations here. More of a voyeuristic presentation than an in-depth drama. You are free to draw your own conclusions about who these ordinary people are and why they are there on this stark piece of land. But, perhaps you would like someone to explain it all to you, to help you think it through, instead, because this is life in the raw and there's nowhere to hide those personal weaknesses, those very real fears and sense of loss. You probably won't enjoy this at all.
Skip-colvin Hard to believe that anyone received any military input here. The RMP personnel show no inclination toward basic military training beyond salutes and gin at the O Club. The over-acting is cringe-worthy most of the time. If you like sloppy-drunk adulteresses you will love the female love interest but she drove me away after three episodes.
rumpolette-50588 I am a female civilian war reporter from the Vietnam War, and I was entrenched with the American troops. I find this series SPOT ON. I was struck by the truth of the men going off to fight and coming home to a dinner cooked by their wives, not being able to say where they had been or what they had done or seen. And the separate lives of the wives, the alcohol abuse, the risk of death from childbirth no less real than what the men faced every day or so. I found the battle scenes to be absolutely realistic. The odd, angry shot. Geurilla warfare.
