Madando2011 While it's been over 20 years since I read the books, This series definitely took me back and gave me the feeling that I was in the same story. I thought it started a bit slow, but by the end of the second episode I'd really got to like most of the cast. Especially Ellie and Homer. I'm only at Episode four and I'm really liking the show. I really hope there's more to come after the end of this series..Oh and I totally agree with those who said the cinematography was great. Totally classy camera work. And good soundtrack.
cath My feelings about this TV series are so intense that I had to join IMDb so I could review it. If you loved the book and really loved the movie DON'T watch this series. Molly Daniels' Ellie is no heroine. Her portrayal of Ellie is terrible. Out of all the actors who play our beloved characters, her interpretation of Ellie is the worst. Sibylla Budd's character is also annoying. AND WHAT IS WITH JAMES STEWART'S ACCENT?? What kind of accent is meant to be, half the time he sounds German and the other half I have no idea. And what ethnicity is he meant to be??? Borderlining culturally insensitive ABC!!I persevered with this series to the 5th episode because I love the books and the movie. I really wanted to enjoy the whole series but it was way too painful. After 15 minutes of episode 5 I turned it off....
Vicki I'm a huge fan of the Tomorrow series and have read them so many times, when I heard from a (suposed) cast member they were making a TV series I was excited. I couldn't wait to see it but when I saw the actors online I knew it'd suck. The characters were wrong, they don't match the descriptions in the book. Or capture the essence of the book characters, even the ones from the movie matched much better. The acting is horrible too (but I guess you've got to start somewhere) and the series is absolutely nothing like the book - not even the locations are close to the book. We can't win them all I guess. I'm sure to a non-fan the series will be fine, if they can ignore the acting. Its very disappointing and I truly never wanted to say this. Good luck in the future though, to those actors. They can only get better with practice.
auscompt I loved these books and did see the 2010 movie. The movie I really liked but as always the movie cannot reproduce the story the books tell, never the less the movie was a good effort 7/10.As with many books to film the sequels never followed. This TV Series looks to have potential if the ABC can keep focused on the series,Episodes 1 to 3 already aired of Season 1 in Australia. For me so far I will hang in there and continue to watch as the story and characters unfold. The young actors are doing a great job establishing the characters they portray and are realistic in their approach. This is a great story and deserves to be shown in film and TV. 7/10
