Java_Joe Amusement is what you get when you take a bunch of half-baked stories, add tons of plot holes and random elements and then try to market it as something scary. It fails on just about every single level. It's told as a sort of anthology series where there's a connecting thread in which some guy is angry at a bunch of girls for how they treated him in the past. And that's pretty much the plot. Each story focuses on one of the girls and this guy's attempt to bring her down for what she did to him. It's never really explained until the end and you think that it was something really heinous like humiliating him in front of the entire school. Instead it's something that he himself is responsible for and showed that he was really creepy even back then. And you'd think that the image of the clown on the front cover would play a part in all parts of this movie but it doesn't. It only appears in one. But then we all know that clowns are pretty creepy so why not just add that for the hell of it?Honestly, this is a movie that you should just ignore. It's beyond stupid and is really not worth your time.
YungRapunxel212 I saw this movies cover, and I wanted to see this movie really bad. The clown on the cover, and the little summary on the back of the cover, and the fact it was $2.99 at a closing store, I expected way, way, WAY more out of it. Very cheesy and very unrealistic. So very predictable and not scary. The casting people could have done a lot better, the writers could have written the script a lot better, and the concept could have been better. Yeah, it was creepy. But, sadly, the clown was the best part. I would love to meet that clown and creep these actresses out. The women's stories really did not flow together. SPOILER ALERT -- The insane man in Shelby's story wasn't the insane man in Lisa or Tabitha's story, Shelby's killer had a big mustache and had hair on his head, where the other guy was totally different. Do not see this movie.
Alexstam54 I read a lot of bad reviews on this site, but I saw this DVD yesterday and don't think the movie is that bad. O.k., there are a lot of plot holes, the movie is way too short and it could have been a lot better with a better scenario, but there are a few very good scenes, especially the scene with the clown... This is the creepiest clown since 'It'! The first scene is also good and scary. And the scene with the mute person... The end was not very satisfying, but if you want to see a creepy movie on a late Saturday night, you won't be disappointed. On internet the movie is often compared to 'torture porn' like 'Saw' and 'Hostel', but those movies have much more gory scenes than 'Amusement'.
Anthony D Where do I start? Well first of all, the plot had potential, it's just unfortunate to see what was done with the idea. The film was riddled with inconsistencies from start to finish, the acting was bad on almost all of the characters, the cover (and synopsis) is pretty misleading, characters are boring, and the antagonist was especially ridiculous (his name should be the indication of that). And why is whatever the girls did to him as a child never explained or revisited? It just shows that one awkward and horribly acted scene when they're like five years old. Then at the end she briefly states that they "laughed at him". Gee, that's a really good reason to go on a killing spree. I realize he's supposed to be crazy, but shouldn't there be SOME reason for this pointless mess? And what about all the unexplained characters who seemed to have helped the killer, like the trucker, and the owner of that obvious non-hotel? It's also pretty hard to sympathize with any of the protagonists when they make the stupidest moves on earth. It's almost their own fault for the fact they've been captured when they had multiple obvious escape opportunities. There's so many unanswered questions to this movie, and I honestly don't want to know the answer to most of them. This thing fails even as an unintentional 'amusement'.
