As a fan of both animation and The Bat I have long wondered why Warner is so reluctant to actually want to try and deliver anything but this cheap looking tripe. The usual is here. Uninspired designs, purposeless movement in some shots and deadeyed stiff awkwardness in the rest. Dead camera angles and radiodrama soundwork. Not to mention that the story is about as riveting as a dry wall. One can tell that underneath all this mediocrity is a hard hitting gritty and gory retelling of The Dark Knight as the victorian era Gotham's Sherlock vs a very gruesome Jack The Ripper... But the final product feels more like an early cd rom era point n click adventure than anything worth mentioning after the credits rolled. Such a shame they refuse to do anything worthwhile with these endeavours. Dc animation fans deserve better...

That's how it started. Took almost NOTHING from the original comic, save that Jack the Ripper was the villain. And then they made Jim Gordon the Ripper!?Screw that noise. There's not enough hate in the world to express my contempt for this movie.

I love this movie it mixwd up 3 great stories like Batman, sherlock holmes and Jack the ripper And the killing scenes done so nicely even batman beaten up so badly 3 times in the movie that made me realize that batman really is normal human witout any super powers. Selina was such a great felme character in this movie I like her a lot xD

People seem to miss the point of this one, as they are expecting Batman to have superhuman powers, while forgetting that in the end, he's just a man.Sure the caped crusader is a skilled fighter, but if he'd be all powerful, then it won't be any good to watch. What good is a hero if he can't be in danger? This picture delivers us just enough suspense to make it feel believable. And let's not forget that this is 19th century Gotham, where Batman doesn't have all the usual gadgets that we are used to, and he's not an all skilled, jack of all trades warrior like in the modern setting, where you need superpowers or overwhelming numbers to stand up in a fight with him.The atmosphere in this is great, the pacing is also spot on and the ending is just a little less predictable, where it has left me guessing till the very end toward the reveal of the killers identity. This is a fresh take on Batman, and if you're a DC fan like myself, you should properly enjoy this one, and it's defiantly for a mature audience, so keep your kids away from this one.
