So these other reviewers obviously don't know a well made character driven horror movie when they see one. As an up an coming writer director I have a ton of respect for Larry Fessenden and what he did for indie horror. He is the godfather of indie horror. One of horrors most important voices. Beneath is an excellent film overall. Fessenden clearly went into it with the idea that the true monster here is man. It is a film about emotions and how friends can easily turn on each other when faced with such situations. It scared the hell out of me and with a collection of over 2000 horror films, this movie stands high on the list.

This film was awful 1.the one I didn't want to die she died and 2.Jonny died and that was the main character it was a stupid death and a bad ending to him it was ridiculous,this film was a awful story line it needed to be more realistic instead of stupid deaths and mostly all the same,more needs to happen in this...Jonny should have stayed alive from the start to finish and show the life of him when he gets back on land and telling people what had happened.... Good ending because I didn't like the brother (Simon) but other than that it was utter crap and it's also very bad acting,saying that,that's what you expect for a not so popular film !!!

Dreadful teen horror story set up - teens, love triangle, lake, boat, beer, party, monster, death blah blah blahIt seemed like everyone -silent one, jock, jock's bro, t'other lass, everyone except the geek that is, had shagged the slut, even the other lass.I liked the way the sides of the fish looked as it moved through the water, it did indeed look fish-like.I hated all the characters, which in my book means they played their parts well because they were all indeed pretty despicable. And I didn't understand how they never seemed to get any closer to the shore when they were in a lake.!All in all it was pretty dire.
