phanthinga The reason i watch this movie because it directed by Wilson Yip the guy that brought us the Ip Man trilogy and many great martial art movie like Flash Point,SPL:Kill Zone so for me it really interesting to find out that before all of that he did a horror comedy called:Biozombie and probably his first successful movie until this day.So the movie is about 2 slacker named Woody Invincible and Crazy Bee that own a DVD shop in a mall has to defend themselves and friends during a zombie outbreak cause by them when they ram into a guy with a car then accidentally make him drink a soda that has zombie virus in it.Pretty crazy plot right ? But the thing only get better when they drove the car with the guy inside it to the mall and we has our movie. The movie itself is chessy, campy, the character is very wacky and entertaining to watch but my issues is sometime it getting a little bit soap opera and the gore effect is very terrible when they jump cut and blurry the scene every time a zombie appear, some weird attempt to recreate scene from the game House of the Dead but near the end there are a quite badass zombie fight scene in the parking lot and a bittersweet ending that really surprise me
dworldeater BioZombie is a very amusing, but effective Hong Kong styled zombie movie with nods to George Romero's Dawn Of The Dead and video games like Killer Instinct and House Of The Dead. While BioZombie is much more on the comedy side, it plays just as well when the film gets darker and more intense. Our unlikely heroes are Woody Invinceable (Jordan Chan) and Crazy Bee(Sam Lee) who are sweet dudes that work at a VCD store in the mall, but generally hit on girls and harass people. When a soft drink turns people into zombies our dudes rise to the occasion with the other survivors in the mall including the lovely (and very yummy) Rolls, the love interest of Woody and Sushi Boy(who is a good zombie that protects Rolls because he is madly in love with her). Overall, BioZombie is a fun zombie flick with solid acting and good direction(directed by Wilson Yip), but those unfamiliar with Hong Kong cinema may not get the humor and horror purists might not think it has enough gore. For those that get it, BioZombie is an awesome movie and a worthy entry in the zombie genre.
trashgang This is a Hong Kong flick that has some fame due being a bit of an ode to Romero's Dawn Of The Dead (1978). But let me say that the only reference is the fact that it take place at a shopping mall, end of resemblance. It's more of a comedy but one with extreme stupid situations. The effects used are also a bit of the cheap kind. The zombies their faces are so stupid, you can easily spot how it was done. Nevertheless, it do has a few bloody situations. But let me say that most of it is just ridiculous. The so-called sex scene at the toilet will make you laugh as did the end scene when a guy is turning into a zombie he only can talk about the tits of his best friend's girlfriend. Still, it didn't bore me and there's enough action to keep you attached to the screen. A classic it will never be but among the geeks it's well known.Gore 1,5/5 Nudity 0/5 Effects 1/5 Story 2,5/5 Comedy 1,5/5
Vivekmaru45 What a horrible film. It absolutely stinks. After watching this film I felt really depressed because of the time I spent watching it and waiting for it to get better. It seems to me the Chinese can't direct ZOMBIE horror films. The acting is even fake. The actors are real fakes themselves. It seems these guys were picked for the film off the streets like stray dogs looking for a bone.Plot: (WHO CARES ANYWAY??? THE FILM IS LAME!!!) This movie takes place in a mall where two young men and other people work. They do not seem to get along very well due to a lack of customers. One night the two young men give an apparently dying businessman a soft drink, which is in actuality an experimental Iraqi biological weapon that turns him into a flesh-eating zombie. Returning to the mall, the man escapes and begins infecting the population, forcing a small group of misfits to band together in order to survive. This film mainly tries to show itself off as a comedy-horror film but falls flat on its face. Obviously the director wanted to cash in on George Romero's success with Dawn Of The Dead. Incidentally if you're not Chinese and happen to own a copy of this film, I suggest sending it to your worst enemy, burning it or posting it back to China.
