benjyuk I make a habit of looking out for low rated films as some can turn up moments of pure, unintentional, comedy gold.I wasn't expecting this to reach the highs of The Room, or for any character to possess the raw charisma and talent that Tommy Wiseau exudes during The Room, but I was hoping for some entertainment somewhere...WRONG!! This is the only film that I have ever wanted to turn off during the opening credits. From the random cut shots of locations that seem to be meaningless, to the scenes being shot in what seemed like slow motion for no apparent reason and then the music score, I can't even begin to describe the music score. It ruined any last hope this movie had of creating any atmosphere and was the most bizarre thing I have ever witnessed....besides the story line of this film. Was there a story, or where they same scenes basically being shot over and over again just using different high school editing effects. It was almost as if they had never used editing software before and were just trying out all the ridiculous special effects, like you would in high school.Regardless to say, I could bear the pain no longer after about 50 mins of torture, and the most annoying laugh I have ever heard in film history. That thing is still ringing in my ears now. I have fallen asleep during films, mentioning no names (McBain!), but I have always carried on until the end. This was so bad that I didn;t even feel any twinge of remorse or wonder what ending could I possibly be missing. The only regret I have is not turning this movie off during the opening credits like my instinct told me to.
Alexandre Prestes For many years, I thought that "Horror of the Blood Monsters" was the worst movie I've ever watched in my whole life. Since then, it remained to me as the perfect example of cinematic crap. But then came Ulli Lommel's Black Dahlia...Of course I knew this one were simply a De Palma's Black Dahlia rip-off. But I thought at least I was buying (yes, shame on me!) a gory and funny "good bad" movie. Instead I got a stupid and moronic "bad bad bad bad" one.The plot (?): three serial killers (a man dressed as a butcher, other dressed as a baseball player and a girl in a Japanese-like high school outfit) are recreating the original Black Dahlia murder. Their MO is utterly absurd: they put an ad on the Internet asking for actresses to make...the Black Dahlia movie! The victim then goes to an abandoned warehouse (that looks more like a prison), is tied to a bed, dismembered alive, and her remains disposed at the neighborhood. You may say: oh, that's not so bad, right? WRONG! These scenes are badly shot with a video camera, have an awful soundtrack, lame acting (people, shouting is not acting!), silly visual effects, amateurish gore (obvious fake blood and rubber pieces) and worse, repeats over and over and over again! It's simply unbelievable! And the cops supposed to investigate the murders? They're simply are the worst movie detectives ever! They don't do absolutely anything besides talking nonsense all the time. The actors don't behave or look like true homicide detectives. They don't even change clothes from one scene to another! Mr. Lommel takes cheap film making to a new level, where no man has been before. Many movie reviewers bash Uwe Boll for his incompetence. Fear no more, Mr. Boll. You can stand before your detractors and proudly say: "At least I didn't make Black Dahlia!"
cycoone I've seen bad movies, most of them are bad in a funny way. This movie is just bad, really bad. My wife bought what she thought was the theatrical release, turns out they had messed up the boxes or something. We just watched it so we haven't had time to take it back yet, but it won't stay on the shelf for long. (For a funny bad movie watch Legend of Rollerblade 7.)Since IMDb won't let me submit a rating without writing a few more lines than this POS deserves, I'll elaborate. The scenes are repetitive to the point where fast-forwarding through all but ~10 minutes of the movie is enough not to miss anything. Cheap gore is overused, and despite it all no one on set seems to understand what a joke their movie is. Pretentious filler by wannabe artists.
Studentlhslove I rented this by accident. because i thought this was the Brian De Palma movie. the acting was absolutely horrible. the script was probably written by an eight year old. and it is officially the most disgustingly fake gory movie i have have ever seen. And i've seen a lot of horror movies.I cannot believe that they allow this in stores. And the director is complete wackjob. And the camera angles look someone took out their video camera and shot with it. And a lot of other people checked this out because they thought it was the other movie also. there should be a warning label on the cover that this movie is not the one with josh hartnett and it's the worst piece of trash ever.
