Leofwine_draca CITIZEN TOXIE is the last, to date, of the TOXIC AVENGER series and the fourth film in the franchise. It may have the biggest budget of the lot, but it's also the most poorly-made, an endless array of inane comedy and lame jokes and a film which outstays its welcome very quickly. The atmosphere is still the same but the jokes seem more tired than ever and the slapdash gore effects and offensive humour just doesn't have the same impact as before. You do get cameos from folk like Ron Jeremy and Corey Feldman but the old Troma magic just doesn't feel the same anymore.
atinder This was the fourth movie In the series , I did not expect much of this , no way did I think it was going to be better Then part 3.I didn't like this movie , I loved this movie , I actually this is the best in the series.Loved the action packed, frist forty minutes , loved the gory stuff , this next level and It was the funniest of them all.Small Spoiler , I can't not mention, the scence with thr unborn babies fighting in the womb Was so , I can't find a word for it.So much much fun too watch.7 out of 10
d-millhoff This may be the crudest, rudest, grossest, most offensively tasteless film Troma ever put out... ...a perfect movie!Gross-out and throw-away gags are intermingled with unexpected whimsy and some very witty satire.Casting Ron Jeremy as the Mayor, and Hank the Angry Drunken Dwarf as a profane God was particularly brilliant.Lloyd Kaufman, amusingly, advises to ignore the previous two sequels, "they don't count". Citizen Toxie is the REAL sequel to their original Toxic Avenger - and the better of the two (or four) movies.Don't bother with the long critiques, the jokes are more fun when you don't expect them.Highly recommended except for prudes.
Scarecrow-88 Well, if you are used to Troma's special brand of gore and humor, depraved and tasteless, then CITIZEN TOXIE:THE TOXIC AVENGER IV will probably satisfy their faithful legion of fans. The hideously deformed monster hero of superhuman size and strength has a lot to deal with his next adventure. I mean, this fourth film in the TOXIC AVENGER series opens with a psychotic group known as the "diaper mafia"(I couldn't make this up if I tried)besieging a school room full of "tards"(leave it to Troma to take a giant poke at the mentally handicapped, even having one of the nutsoid mafia unloading bullets into one of the "special" students until the victim is a bloody mess, face barely recognizable)and hoisting the pregnant teacher, hands tied with rope, with preparations to make a statement about waisting tax dollars on those who can not be taught. Well, Toxie shows up in the disguise of a hot babe reporter in a red bikini and starts destroying the diaper mafia one at a time(we get the wonderful image of one scare member pooping his diaper before it is shoved in his face, his head later caved in by Toxie's foot). We actually see a victim's head up his ass(literally, this, my friends, is a first), before it is taken off by a Toxie clothesline soon to be a "hot potato" for the students to toss about the classroom. Toxie even removes one victim's guts and other organs despite the fact that this member of the mafia has a detonator for a bomb(a bomb with a very slow timer). Toxie is trying to impregnate Sarah(if you think the blind jokes have subsided, think again). Toxie even has a side kick, the "morbidly obese" Lard Ass(that's his crime-fighting title!).When Lard Ass eats the bomb(!), before it can fully digest(I have no other way of explaining it), a cigarette lighter sets off an explosion in the school which sends Toxie into an alternate dimension where his opposite is not the superhero, but a villain who sells crack to youth and is wanted by the police(while also a sex deviant with a male boy toy in leather, a female slave he beats and who has bad dental hygiene, and a monster cock). Meanwhile, Noxie, Toxie's "alternate self", no longer the hero, and unapologetic when it comes to ripping the arms off of Tromaville's police chief and tossing a 12 year old girl into the school brick wall because she asks him, "Oh, Toxie, say it ain't so?" Well, as expected by Troma, an elderly lady moving across the street with her walker is hit by a car, with her skull later crushed after the driver backs over the woman, not to mention a black man is dragged, hog-tied, by a truck driven by racist rednecks until the fellow's body parts fall off, his lower torso pulled apart! Imagine seeing Noxie use Julie Strain's breast to crush a face before peeling her face off! And, a homage to news reels on celluloid, ala Citizen Kane, as only Lloyd Kaufman can provide. We see tongues ripped from mouths, eyes gouged, video game style martial arts between 'evil Kabukiman' and Toxie inside a meat market(except in 'Amortville' a "cowman" in "hick chic" is the butcher who used humans as the food product!), Lard Ass as a poor scientist giving blow jobs for food(in Amortville), Corey Feldman hamming it up as a baby doc with a fake mustache, Sarah pregnant by both Noxie and Toxie, abortion clinic humor, anus violence(rectal hemorrhaging), rape and S&M comedy, decapitated head hi-jinx, Ron Jeremy as Tromaville mayor on and on about seeking the Lord's guidance and presence(resulting in being stabbed through the mouth and out his neck with a crucifix) etc. Oh, and God is a foul-mouthed dwarf with heaven a dump in New Jersey. The hospital massacre has to be seen to be believed, as Kaufman administers the most ridiculous use of split screen I've ever seen(not to mention, you get more mileage out Toxie's mop that could ever be conceived)with Toxie brutalizing an army of neo-Nazis to save his pregnant wife held captive by Noxie. Definitely, Kaufman and company apply the kitchen sink method(including "superhero"(more like superdud)Sgt Kabukiman NYPD who spends most of his time wasted), it seems the only thing missing is Pat Ryan(although, Joe Fleishaker, as Lard Ass, was more than a worthy substitute).
