Sravan Kumar Bhansali His vision perfectly shows on screen...What a fantastic love drama. There is so many pictures made on this title earlier. But This movie Extremely out of mind screen play.Star Casting Sharukh, Aishwarya, Madhuri Dixit and directed by Sanjay leela Bhansali This is perfect team. If Anyone misses the character that would effect entire cinema. Shahrukh He is Best And Aishwarya Rai wow..you can't imagine how performed in role of Paro.Aishwarya so gorgeous and look stunning. The costumes of Actresses so pretty Especially Aishwarya and Madhuri so pretty. Background Setting well showed that is possible things only by Bhansali. What he thinks that narrates well to the Actors and Show on the screen with very perfection.Bhansali Every movie is remarkable to Indian film industry. Nobody thought such story create and plays on Indian screen. Shreya ghoshal is his best singer, she got excellent opportunities with Sanjay sir. Devdas story, screen play, casting, music full support to make Master piece of Devdas. Hats off to Bhansali and Devdas team for creation great picture. Devdas,Paro and Chandramukhi
Namra Syed Hussain Devdas- 2002 Director: Sanjay Leela BhansaliSanjay Leela Bhansali's labour of love Devdas is a larger-than-life, poignant and spectacular interpretation. Clearly Devdas is a work of art and heart. Ismail Darbar's rich compositions are mostly situation-based and aid the narrative. Thankfully, the music plays in the background and Devdas and Paro are not shown lip-syncing sweet nothings. Pandit Birju Maharaj and Saroj Khan storm the screen with some sensational choreography. Madhuri Dixit's dances are breath-taking. Binod Pradhan's eye for detail cannot be missed as he romances the camera with imaginative angles and lighting. The good thing is that before the viewer gets too caught up in admiring Aishwarya's exotic hair clip, the shot switches to the sorrow in her eyes.
Avinash Patalay After shutting up the detractors with "Hum Dil Chuke Sanam" Mr. Bhansali made his second outing of translating gloss and glitter on silver screen to the extent audience demanded a pair of sun-glasses in "Devdas". Critics have panned Bhansali to great lengths on this issue so let me politely bow out on this front. Bhansali takes the Saratchandra novel and adds his own sensibilities. Not deviating a lot from the original but certainly taking creative liberties. A practical and sensible customisation for commercial leverage. SRK:: No two ways about this role was destined for SRK. After K L Saigal & Dilip Kumar if any actor in the present generation who could fit the bill then its undoubtedly SRK. The intensity of his eyes suited quite well for "Devdas" and needless to say his signature style dialogue delivery (read that hamming) was effectively used by Bhansali to breathe life into "Devdas". Aishwarya:: No doubt it was that only Bhansali who presented a "Miss World 1994" and can actually deliver goods (ref. Hum Dil Chuke Sanam). In "Devdas" she was spot-on as Paro. Madhuri:: I felt Bhansali's Chandramukhi did not integrate naturally to the main storyline. The character is presented by Bhansali in a different light. Mrs. Nene was ideally suited for the role. Kiron Kher:: Spot on though I must admit her character was a bit over- the-top. On second thought, if Bhansali could have roped in Rekha instead it would have been nothing short of casting coup to see all the three lovely ladies under the same roof.Jackie Shroff:: Motilal left an impression as Chunni Babu in Bimol Roy's version. Sadly Jackie Shroff's Chunni Babu evaporates into thin air. His lack of homework clearly shows. Perhaps Govinda could have been a better choice. Songs were melodious best. Bhansali-Ismail Darbar were a winning combination and no two ways about that. Sadly they parted ways after this project.
melly47-1 This has to be one of the most romantic films ever, ever made! It definitely deserves 10 stars.I love the storyline. Its about the lovers Devdas and Paro. Devdas is from a wealthy status family in India and Paro is of a poor family. Devdas and Paro live next to each other as children, and therefore become childhood sweethearts. Then, Devdas is sent away to school, and they are both separated. Ten years later Devdas comes back. Obviously, they fall in love. Because of their difference in fortune Devdas's father forbids them to be together, so Devdas goes away and tries to forget about Paro. But Devdas realises he can't live without Paro and returns only for him to find Paro is about to have an arranged marriage to an older man. So once again Devdas and Paro are separated, but this time for good. Devdas becomes an alcoholic as he tries desperately to recover from losing Paro through his own fault. Eventually, Devdas becomes seriously ill, and is told he will soon die. As he's moments from death, he remembers the promise he made to Paro (to go to her doorstep when he dies), and sets out to fulfil it. He makes it to his destination, but unfortunately Paro does not know he is there. When she finally finds out, she runs to Devdas to be with him, but doesn't make it in time. Its so tragic!! The acting is amazing from all the cast. Especially Shahrukh Khan (Devdas) and Aishwarya Rai's (Paro) performance, its no wonder they won so many awards! Maduri Dixit (Chandramuki) was also very good. The music is wonderful. Its one of the best things about the film in my opinion. All the costumes were beautiful in this film! I really loved Chandramuki's outfit during the song "maar dala".10/10! Excellent film!
