The adventure begins when Lucas, a 13 year old boy, embarks on the vacation of a lifetime. When disaster strikes, Lucas finds himself stranded in a strange land littered with ghost ships and prehistoric creatures. While searching for other signs of life, Lucas hears a radio broadcast in the distance and is drawn into the jungle where he encounters a beautiful young girl who claims to have come from the 1950s. Together they set out on a quest to get home all the while uncovering secrets that will forever change the future.

Leofwine_draca JOURNEY TO DINOSAUR ISLAND is a tiny-budgeted kid's adventure movie from Australia. The script is pedestrian and the story nothing more than a mish mash of previous genre staples and the like; the main thing is to get a couple of kids and have them interacting with various kinds of dinosaur, all of which have a uniform green/blue look. The CGI effects aren't quite as terrible as I had feared - they're better than in your average Asylum movie, for example - but they're still pretty poor, although not as poor as the terrible acting from the child leads.

dutchy-47536 This film was very good for children 7-9 Should not be compared to Jurassic park. It's not a high budget film but not a bad effort and it entertains children so a success in that regard. Acting won't win any accolades but hey it's a children's film.

whiteandblackdesigns I have waited a while, and seen a lot of movies but this is on a par with some old time worst ever movies like the creeping terror or Eegah! and has none of the charm of them.The main character is so badly acted and obnoxious that I am surprised the posh girl doesn't kill him and eat him on sight. I would have willed one of the monsters to kill the vile little s**t if they had looked in any way realistic (which they don't)For kids? I wouldn't be so cruel. I can give you a list of hundreds of films better for them then this, both old and new. Frankly it's an insult to anyone old enough to focus their eyes and see in colour.Positives? It ended. The girl is quite pretty. I never have to see it again

richardstom513 I watched this film and didn't really know anything about it. It was a really enjoyable movie. I am a dinosaur nut and absolutely love the dinosaurs in this film. They look real and are great quality. I liked the story, a little confusing at times but it had a really great ending which made up for any problems in the middle of the story. This is appropriate for all ages, younger children i think would love it. The music was great and the acting wasn't too bad for child actors. I especially liked the pterodactyls and the scenes of them flying in the canyons. I would highly recommend this film for people who love dinosaurs and like simple, easy entertainment.
