exocrine This was one of the worst movies i've ever seen. I appreciate that you are on a low budget but there's no excuse for this kind of garbage. It's got every kind of cliché, from the down home country folk to the sex obsessed aliens. There's sex all over the place and really bad gore. It's about as fun as watching the Parliamentary channel while drinking a flat diet coke and waiting for your desperately needed turn in the bathroom. The characters are all cardboard cutouts. There's the dumb hot girl, the gay guy, the nerd, the country girl, the weird country brother, the serious hot girl. When one dies you really won't care. I would avoid this.
Samiam3 What could possibly sound dumber than a title like Evil Aliens. The answer is...maybe nothing. For what this film is trying to do, it's not half bad actually. Set up very much like Shawn of the Dead, but I prefer to think of Evil Aliens as being another addition to that category of Z-movie sci-fi/comedies, that are not only deliberately cheesy, but deliberately fake looking. I can't think of any great examples at the moment, other than Killer Clowns from Outer Space.Odd as it may sound, it actually requires skill to make something like this. The key is not to over do it. While the first half hour of Evil Aliens is fine (even laugh out loud), it gets carried away quickly and in the last half of the film, the ratio of goofiness to humour starts to get less even. Both need to be consistent for the film to be good. In the end Evil Aliens is moderately good.A British film crew wants to do an interview with a farm girl, who claims that she was abducted and even impregnated by alien life. The crew takes a mockumentary approach to the whole idea at first (thinking it will get more viewers this way), before long however they find themselves filming the real thing, and then fighting it for their lives.Evil Aliens' sense of humour is pretty cynical towards the media. The protagonists are the kind of morons that you might be tempted to root against. One of the problems I had with Shawn of the Dead was that I didn't care much for Simon Pegg and his buddy, despite their copious one-liners. As far as video productions go, this one is surprisingly good. The way it is shot and edited, it looks more like film than a home video movie. I didn't even mind that the CG space craft looks like a cartoon. Though the creatures are supposed to look fake, I can't help but think that they could've been made to look more authentic. Honestly, they look like muscle boys in Storm trooper helmets, and their movements are way too human. When they run they look like Barry Pepper in Battlefield Earth. Perhaps the best way to approach Evil Aliens is to see it as pure satire of Ed Wood, and some of his more successful contemporaries. However you choose to see it, you may get a kick out of Evil Aliens, but other films have done this sort of thing better, and not simply because they had more money.
sinful-2 Before going any further I have to admit this is a TRUE B movie. Far from the Asian horror movies I normally like. Then lets again say this is not a horror or sci-fi, it is a splatter comedy. The characters are not realistic. sometimes you want to punch some of them but they make the movie work great anyway.I admit I was about to quit in one of the start scenes about an anal probe. It was really a bit too much for me. But I try to be open minded so I gave it a chance and the movie gave me a lot of laughs following. Maybe 8 is a high rating but I did laugh a lot and the movie did win me over from a hard start. So the recipe for great entertainment is a group of TV people, some welsh hillbillies, and some sadistic aliens. This movie was not meant to be intelligent and it is not. Turn your brain off and enjoy :-) I have watched Peter Jacksons early movies too but did not like them really. This Movie was great entertainment and I can promise I will watch this movie again not PJ's.
Scarecrow-88 Raucus sci-fi horror splatter comedy regarding a documentary film crew, who work for a television program which display fantastic claims of UFO phenomena for entertainment purposes, running into real warrior aliens(with fancy blades as weapons wearing a special mask because the Earth's atmosphere is harmful to them) when they were researching a claim from a young woman who said she was abducted along with her boyfriend. This woman explains that her husband was the recipient of an anal drill with the aliens opening her up with a fetus planted inside her. Michelle Fox(Emily Booth, quite yummy)and her minor crew, for the exception of a VERY devoted alien abduction researcher, find the whole business silly until they come face-to-face with them in a bloody war.Director Jake West and company really provide a crowd-pleaser for fans of gory carnage. Blood and body parts always splattering here and there with the alien warriors, essentially human extras in costumes, often ripping heads(..plus arms and legs) arms off, gouging eyes, even impaling one poor soul on a wood crucifix. Farming equipment and liquid manure are used among other weapons by the humans. An adult actress, with limited talents, shoots a mean shot-gun. A running gag is the trinity of foul farmers who are the alien abductee claimant's brothers, with one of them quite gifted with a crossbow. Cattle are mutilated(..no, obviously fake), with their heads used for laughs. A farming combine is used to mow through aliens with their body parts flying all over the place. We see a woman pulled apart by "the alien inside". Jake West and his team gleefully poke fun at alien conspiracy shows and nuts using one of their own as an eventual hero. If there is a way to destroy an alien, West and his crew deliver in spades. For extra giggles, a gay character has a good many witty moments and is provided with some especially amusing moments when facing the peril of aliens on the prowl and the uncouth farmers in the midst. The inside of an alien ship shows how their guidance system works..through a massive brain, their ship's functions derive. There's even a hilarious sex scene between a female warrior alien and the nerdy alien conspiracy nut! If you are looking for a flick that is made completely tongue-in-cheek, throwing caution to the wind in favor of painting the screen red(..while also incorporating sleazy jokes and visual gags)with grue, then "Evil Aliens" will provide mucho enjoyment. West uses CGI rather well in the design of the alien ships in the film, and the gory make-up effects are a welcome presence. Low-budget, but evokes the spirit of early Peter Jackson with solid pacing and visual verve. West, I hope, will work more frequently in the horror genre..his work is welcome on my television set.
