There really isn't too much to add to the other reviews; this movie is dreadful. The special effects are worse than anything I've seen since the 70s. The audio/sound-fx are horrific. The acting is uninspired. There is no story and what they've attempted doesn't fit in with any part of the Highlander-universe.The best part of of the series was, of course, the sword fights. Rather than choreograph a fight here, they've elected to take a picture of the characters and jiggle it at high speed around the set. Seriously, I could make a better fight scene with my great-grandmother and a tortoise.Do not under any circumstances consider watching or buying this horrific piece of nonsense.

I'm not even starting with countless goofs, horrible characterizations and bad acting - seems as if the actors too hated the script - but want to focus on the abysmal plot that is an abomination to all this fandom is made of. throughout every movie, the series and its spin-off it was clear, clear enough to become a modern proverb: there can be only one! its the sole reason why they are all carrying swords and frequently fight to the death after all. but suddenly, an unborn child shall be 'the one'?! that's making a mockery of the whole game. every fight there was, all the effort, blood and tears it took them to survive that far, all in vain and for nothing? just...no. The second movie is a masterpiece compared to this, and even endgame is better if you're really desperate.

The TV series was awesome, amazing with a morality story in almost every episode. There was something classy about the show and the characters. What the heck when wrong with this film!! All the actors are back. The core is there, but the story - the source, it is NOT. I will not tell you the story,so no spoiler here, but the use of special effects, right out of Matrix. That alone ruined whatever bit of storyline existed. The costly effects ruined the movie to the point having no association with the series. This is NOT Highlander. While it is great to see all the same faces and actors playing the parts - Duncan McCloud is NOT the McCloud we love and cherish. It is like the series and all the struggles he went through just never happened. What a waste.Honestly, just skip this, I am sad to say, very disappointing. And I am a huge fan of the show.

As has been said this is pretty bad and low budget, but it's still watchable if you treat it more like a TV pilot or a TV episode rather than a cinema film, and after watching the television series you would be used to seeing the bad acting and lack of plot, also as it's only about 80 minutes it has the 'feel' of a TV episode, the ending has extra padded time filler, as it shows highlights of the film (like having a trailer for the film within it's own film?) And a kind of biblical ending where Anna, McCloud's wife gets pregnant (by God?)It also has some very Weird and wonderful crediting. Still bad and pretty lame but it could have been worst, as it's also anti church with the cardinal been crooked and betraying his friends (Judas?). Also for some strange reason they are all wearing tinted glasses. What more can be said? Bad sword fights, speeded up action, it's bad but NOT totally bad.
